They readily embrace the GOP policies, especially those that go against everything the Democratic Party has historically stood for.<br/><br/>They are anti-Civil rights; anti liberal - and yet, those who embrace the GOP platform still want to be considered Democrats. Bill Clinton founded the DLC back in the 1980s, when it became easier as a Democrat to get what you wanted if you acted and thought like a Republican.<br/><br/>It has been said that given the choice between a real Republican and a fake Democrat, the voter will go for the real Republican.
