If anything, independent voters don’t rely on catch phrases to educate them. In other words, they know the difference between “tax and spend” and “borrow and spend”. The latter is what has our debt unpayable; our dollar dropping in value.

The term “tax and spend” is what Republican hacks rely on to energize their base. Not to educate (true) independents.

If Obama can articulate that, it’s more of an Opportunity than a Weakness.

No big deal; took it as a subtle reference to my friends, (though we’re actually a (c)(4)) and smiled a bit.

It will be interesting to see how many people/groups Obama can safely piss off on his way back to reality on Iraq. And it all begins with his trip there……

You are correct regarding the Swiftboat Vets…they were a different IRS designation. I have corrected that error. I actually meant to include 527’s. There is also an issue with 501(3)(c)’s as well. I provided a Mother Jones article that explained the problem better than I could.

It’s interesting how the focus here is shifted from 527 groups (which is what the Swift Boat Vets for Truth was) to 501(c)(3) groups who, legally, can’t work to influence an election.

However it is an effective tool and the Angry Independent did an excellent job putting this together.
