Yeah, that was an inspirational dialog. I agree that having the right allies is key, and I agree with Hearts and Flowers. Racking up one's victim points and jockeying for position on the oppress-ometer is a useless exercise.
Common ground...it's there.

That was great! I can't believe Majora Carter is 42 - she doesn't look a day over 27. Glad to see Pete Seeger still being as feisty as ever. It shows how with the passage of time perceptions about things and people can change. He was once vilified and now he is lauded as an elder statesman.
The one thing that stood out for me was how you pick your battles and start off with something small. I don't people realize the amount of work and the application of timing that requires patience in order to see 'change' occur. We're on the sidelines watching, cheering or booing and are not necessarily in the trenches. Or if we are we may let ourselves get sidetracked by ego and jockeying for positioning or claiming victimhood status.
Knowing who one's allies are is key. Being able to determine who those allies are will make or break any movement.
