When people are unaccountable to any sort of truth — when their very foundation is lies and distortions, created reality, and the burning desire to “win” at any cost — they soak up the energy of anything they perceive as attack, and it fuels and energizes them.

And for these people, acting from and telling the truth feels like an attack.

Hillary Clinton is an extreme example of someone like this.

I really don’t understand this dynamic. I have seen it happen more than once in my life. It took me a long time to see what it was. I feel that truth has its own power. But. Not in this society, it doesn’t. This is what I have learned.

But then Senator Obama has done something different to harness whatever power this system has available related to truth. I have watched him. How he acts …. it doesn’t feed the beast the way that direct truth-telling seems to do. I don’t understand it and I can’t really do it myself, but I see it in action and I have to admit its reality and effectiveness inside the insanity of this society.

I can’t stand this thing about him wanting to work with her. I can’t stand it. I am horrified by her having any place anywhere near things that will affect my life or the lives of those I love and care about.

I can’t stand it. But I am schooling myself on this, telling myself that maybe he knows what he is doing. Pushing on her would feed the beast. Maybe she won’t know what to do with where he’s coming from. Maybe he knows what he is doing.

I don’t understand it, really I don’t. But I can’t ignore the effectiveness of his approach so far, compared with a more pushing-back kind of thing.

I guess I’ll wait and see.

I think you’re onto something there. I recall that icy vibe from him in the Virgin Islands.

It seems to me that some people think he’s a chump, due to his restraint. Some SD’s may be trying to twist his arm to take Hillary as VP in exchange for their vote. They better be careful.
More and more, I’m coming to see that Barack Obama is not one to be trifled with.

Leo’s are deeply nurturing and kind, but they’ll cut you if you overstep.

I know it’s all about unity and Barack has to reach out to these mofos but I feel just like you do!

I think that’s some of what drives Hilary’s die-hards, along with the “we’re feminists and we need a woman president to feel good about ourselves as womyn” crowd.

I just think Obama is sticking to the message: unity, class, grace, rise above the strife.

I think he will find a way to let Hilary know how he really feels. Did you ever see that clip of him walking out to talk to reporters on his Caribbean vacation this spring? Just how he walked down the path let you know that he was Not Amused at being stalked by the press. His first few exchanges were extremely… clear. He said nothing untoward but he vibed “why the hell are you miserable rats bothering my family with your telephoto lenses? You are intruding.”

But then he went right into his spiel about how they worshiped on Sunday (it was Easter I think) and relaxed etc. The words sounded easy and casual but in his eyes he was still saying – back the fuck off, I am giving you your sound bite even though you don’t deserve it.

I think Obama is a true prince, a Leo, and he will make his displeasure known, but at his own time and in the manner of his choosing. Meanwhile, Hilary is still Senator of a big and powerful state so the President will need her as an ally.

This guy is not where he is because he acts like I would. He is a politician, remember, and a very good one. And we’re going to need those diplomatic skills when he’s leader of the Free World (if God wills, insha’allah as the Arabs would say)

You know from being a Christian that the point of grace is the place where the one receiving it is utterly undeserving.

Barack Obama has every right in the world to hammer her. And if he did, it would destroy his candidacy and his message of transformative politics — from attacks to respect, from personal to issues.

He has practiced what he preaches. When he says he will find ways to reach out to enemies and find common ground, there is no more immediate illustration of that intent than his outstretched hand to Hillary Clinton.

Who appears to be the loser here? Certainly not Barack.

Be angry, be furious, but also be forgiving, because the goal here is to get this incredible man elected. He is doing all the right things to make that happen.

While we welcome all readers here at JJP, I have to ask if you think we’re an anti-unity blog, why are you still visiting here?

All of us may say things that will not sit well with everybody. In a democracy, it’s expected that a person has individual chains of thought and we express them here.

I’m sorry you didn’t like the post, but I’ve noticed no one’s asked me to rescind it, either. I’m not apologizing for Obama having to damn near walk on water and the MSM is STILL NOT HAPPY WITH HIM.

He tried non-threatening, willing to work with everyone, compromised, and has been almost twisted into a pretzel trying to be everything to everyone. My post was saying he needs to remain himself and do what he has to do.

Where is the non-unity in that? Or in any of the posts? Just because we’re not always singing “Kuubaayaa” because we’re too busy staying on top of developments and reporting them here?

It’s just the most biased press coverage in history. It’s another way of helping Obama. They had all these people standing up in this church cheering, calling Hillary a white racist, and he didn’t do anything about it. The first day he said ‘Ah, ah, ah well.’ Because that’s what they do– he gets other people to slime her. So then they saw the movie they thought this is a great ad for John McCain– maybe I better quit the church. It’s all politics. It’s all about the bias of the media for Obama. Don’t think anything about it.”

“But I’m telling ya, all it’s doing is driving her supporters further and further away– because they know exactly what it is– this has been the most rigged press coverage in modern history– and the guy ought to be ashamed of himself.
