There are many good magazine / newspaper articles about this campaign. I am deeply interested in reading a book about the indepth nitty-gritty org / staffing / tech usage details.

Why? This book would give an insight into how other org's could, and should, be created or revitalized. I'd like to see something of a new NAACP for issues affecting young girls and women of color.

In the past, I had never ever EVER in my life ever donated to a political candidate's campaign. I have donated when I could to organizations/groups/projects I was working with. But a political candidate? Never. Ever.

But. I have donated more than once to Senator Obama's campaign. As has my girlfriend who similarly never donated to a political campaign. We have donated more than once, in small amounts, what we could -- chipping in $5, $10, $15 each for example.

I don't think it's only about the internet. There was a psychology to all this for us too. We discussed it explicitly.

Once we realized that small contributions were actually acceptable and relevant to the big picture of what was going on, it felt worth it to do. Once we realized that small donors were also in the core rather than the margins, we felt it was worth it to do.

I still can't quite get my head around this shift.

extraodinary development. the obama campaign will be studied for years to come.

you see, obama got that facebook founder on staff, his secret weapon, responible for raising $$ online. he also visited the google campus early in his campaign and wowed them. add oprah, with her neo-randian pride, and what you have in obama is a bono-like, vinod khosla, micro-lending, social vc, reconstructed leftie along the lines of capitalist do-gooder. he's also pro school vouchers (though he kept it hidden during the primary) and his anti-nafta stand is a ruse, meant to pander to the xenophobic vote...the democratic equivalent to the southern strategy. (sorry to offend, but lets keep it real).

brillaint politician.
