The following may all be lies.

Obama confronted Lieberman over Muslim smears courtesy Democratic Underground and Crooks and Liars.

“In a brief but animated Senate floor confrontation last week, according to a campaign aide who asked for anonymity when talking about private discussions, Obama told Lieberman he was surprised by Lieberman’s personal attacks and his half-hearted denials of the false rumors that Obama is a Muslim. (The aide says Lieberman was “strangely muted” during the exchange; a Lieberman spokesman says the chat was “private and friendly.”) McCain spokeswoman Jill Hazelbaker says Lieberman “played a key role in reaching out to the Jewish community in the primary … and you can expect that will continue.”

I’ve been feeling for a long time, ever since Joe was acting like Igor to McCain’s oblivious Frankenstein on that middle east trip where McCain screwed up Sunni/Shiite, that this is coming down to Israel. Not Republican, not Democrat. Israel.

I firmly believe the only reason why Joe is kissing up to McCain and acting as his Machiavelli is because of a belief that McCain will kowtow to Israel with greater speed and gumption than Obama. Obama is an unknown and not really trustworthy only because of distrust about where Israel will fit in his administration.

People with a lot more political knowledge than me will disagree. But I’m just laying it out there as I see it even as more news reports come in about Israel wanting a fight with Iran.

I am second to none in my contempt for Joe, but please get your facts straight before wanking online.

Invariably, Bush throws his arm around McCain’s shoulders…or grabs him by the scruff of the neck. It reminds me of what I would see our cats do. The dominant cat would walk up and throw it’s paw over the more passive animal who appeared very uncomfortable. Sometimes the aggressor would begin to groom the passive one. It looked friendly, but it’s really aggression.

I think Bush is enjoying yanking McCain’s chain and watching him grovel. McCain is also aggressive, but probably only to those he sees as weaker. Bush is the alpha male to McCain.

Specifically, Lieberman was able to rely on his popular “brand,” including his reputation for independence, to defeat a leftist Democrat in a liberal state despite his staunch support for a very unpopular war (today, almost two years later, the war is merely unpopular). This is essentially what McCain hopes to accomplish. Although McCain lacks Lieberman’s consistently liberal record on domestic issues (and for that reason won’t carry Connecticut), he’s making a good run so far at eroding Obama’s support among independents and Hillary Clinton-supporting Democrats.

I actually think Lieberman used to be a nice guy, but he has changed in the past few years.

As you probably know, I’m from Oakland, and I well know that if all of California voted like we in Northern Cal did, Gray Davis would have served out his second, democratically elected, term.

It’s the reason Ah-nold has caught hell and had to tone down that right-wing propaganda when he got handed his ass by the three most powerful labor unions in the State.

Only a horse’s ass would piss off the California Nurses Union, the Law Enforcement Union and the Teacher’s Union, by threatening to kick their ass through ballot initiatives that required a special election costing you, me, and the rest of the taxpayers millions of dollars to hold off-season.

I loved it when all of Ah-nold’s initiatives got defeated by two-third margins; he had to tuck his tail and drink six-packs of STHU.

I have never forgiven the California ReThugs for forcing that recall election; all because Gray Davis got Federal indictments against Enron for price goughing back in 2001 and was granted permission by the Federal Courts to sue and get back Californians’ money. The only reason Ah-nold was suggested as a recall candidate was that he had a meeting in a Beverly Hills Hotel room back in May 2001, with Darrell Issa and the guy that spearheaded the recall effort and was instructed to tank that Enron Court Case if the recall election was successful.

You haven’t heard about that Enron court case anymore, have you?

Yet Ah-nold’s first act was to put a ballot initiative to borrow money to pay off California’s debts. The same amount Gray Davis was going to take Enron for sticking Californians with high energy prices and rolling blackouts.

I’m surprised Ah-nold won a second term, but that’s probably because after he got handed his ass by the voters in 2003, he had to return to being the moderate he’s always been.

Not to mention he lost value to the GOP when he couldn’t deliver the electoral votes to Lil’ Bush. Cali’s been getting screwed over by Lil’ Bush ever since.
