–Now everyone knows the respect I have for Senator Obama, but lets be clear here … just because Senator Edwards stands beside him at a gathering of four or five people and says nice things … maybe even invokes the word “endorse” itself … that doesn’t need to be considered as an official “endorsement” of Senator Obama … I know … I know … there are a lot of passionate Obama supporters who may … think … they heard an endorsement, but from where I am sitting here … and what I observed … I would be hard pressed to see an endorsement in Senator Edwards drop by in Michigan … I respect Senator Obama, you know I do, but we are playing semantic games here when we should be focusing on Senator Clinton’s 41 point victory in West Virginia … and one more thing …–

Clinton National Campaign Co-Chair Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones and other Members of Congress will hold a press conference at 6:15 p.m. EDT tonight to discuss Hillary Clinton’s strong pro-choice record.

Obama cannot under federal law assume direct responsibility for Clinton’s debts because that would amount to an illegal contribution, far above contribution limits.

There are, however, a number of other alternatives. Obama could, for example, send out a solicitation in Clinton’s behalf to his own donors and to other donor lists, asking for contributions to be directed to her campaign. He could, in addition, hold a joint fundraiser with the money

I am sure she will NEVER drop out. This is going to the convention and even after that, she will continue to make trouble. I don’t know how Dems didn’t see this coming.

Joint Fundraising Notice
General Rule

In addition to any notice required under “Disclaimer Notices on Communications” and “Solicitation Notices,” participants must include a joint fundraising notice with every solicitation for contributions. The notice must contain the following information:

• The names of all participants, regardless of whether they are registered political committees or unregistered organizations;

• The allocation formula;

• A statement informing contributors that they may designate contributions for a particular participant; and

• A statement that the allocation formula may change if any contributor makes a contribution that exceeds the amount he or she may lawfully give to any participant. 102.17(c)(2)(i).

Special Situations

In two situations, participants must include additional information in the joint fundraising notice:

• If a participant is engaging in the joint fundraiser to pay off outstanding debts, the notice must state that the allocation formula may change if the participant receives enough funds to pay its debts. (emphasis mine)

• If, under State law, any unregistered participant is permitted to receive contributions prohibited under the Act, the notice must say that such contributions will be given only to participants that may legally accept them. 102.17(c)(2)(ii

I was just about to post that for you. I was just reading it over at dailykos

and I feel better. It’s “allegedly” for the DNC, which is low on $.

Edwards is endorsing Obama! I’m glad he has the spine to show some leadership. It’s hard for me to understand that if they are really for the success and progress of the party, why won’t they show more leadership. I think the floodgates will open after the final contest on June 3rd. KKKlinton insists that Fl & MI be seated just the way they voted. Why don’t white people consider her to be a cheater? Marion Jones is in jail for cheating, and Barry Bond is being continuously harassed…Why is it ok for KKKlinton to cheat and not be censured by the party? I’m not going to be able to donate to them to cheat Black people, even if he is going to win in spite of it. I think I’m going to email them and let them know.

And as far as Obama not wanting us to support 528’s or whatever the right # is, I understand him and I disagree. They are going to tell scurrilous lies about him. I think there needs to be someone to tell the TRUTH about McCryptkeeper.

I think that deal is between the DNC and each campaign. I believe the funds will be separate…but someone who knows for sure can confirm.
