Senator Obama said the race should play out. People are strategically following his lead while very old hags are screaming revenge if Hill is forced out of the race, not to mention big dollar donors. It takes more than just Obama to get things done and his donors cannot pay to elect everyone.
Let her spin out as long as he doesn't pay her debts. If he ignores her, the media will follow him anyway as the presumptive. She has gotten so little coverage today for that very reason. He is in DC and she is in WV. If he waits until she leaves WV, to go there the media will be in tow and in focus on him not her. Let her spin her ass out until she's comatose for all I care.

S. one more thing before I sign off. It is not about blaming anybody because we are all in this together. If we don't work together to figure out solutions and work to get it done (including the involvement of the people) we will be stuck in this same cycle forever. If we don't fix this as Americans -we are done and things will only get worse.
Regarding terrorism. . . it is not about Obama or us not being aware of terrorist activity but we can't live our lives based on the FEAR of terrorist activity. Common sense tells you take care of home. But need to get past the idea that we can walk into somebody's back yard any kind of way without the expectation that they will step back at you.
Of course we should fight against terrorism. Of course we should defend our country. But a good foreign policy includes diplomacy, stepping up economic pressures, forcing political isolation, using the tools available to the commander in chief PRIOR to calling for all out war.

One more D - You said -- We've tried isolationism and "waging peace"-and got Khobar Towers, the Cole bombing, and 9/11 in return.
I disagree.
S. You said the government takes in trillions of dollars (welcome McCain supporter) but that money is being spent fighting a war we we got into on a lie. The war costs an up to $9B PER MONTH. This is money that is desperately needed in our own country. More important is all the lives lost on this war that was based on a lie. And the American people has been doing without money for the last 5 years. Look at the economy. So no, we cannot afford being with out a trillion dollars for three months when that boils down to unemployed citizens with families, folks losing houses, unable to afford healthcare, feed their families and racking up debt because they don't have the money to make ends meet.
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/print/us.html Economy - overview: The US has the largest and most technologically powerful economy in the world, with a per capita GDP of $46,000. In this market-oriented economy, private individuals and business firms make most of the decisions, and the federal and state governments buy needed goods and services predominantly in the private marketplace. US business firms enjoy greater flexibility than their counterparts in Western Europe and Japan in decisions to expand capital plant, to lay off surplus workers, and to develop new products. At the same time, they face higher barriers to enter their rivals' home markets than foreign firms face entering US markets. US firms are at or near the forefront in technological advances, especially in computers and in medical, aerospace, and military equipment; their advantage has narrowed since the end of World War II. The onrush of technology largely explains the gradual development of a "two-tier labor market" in which those at the bottom lack the education and the professional/technical skills of those at the top and, more and more, fail to get comparable pay raises, health insurance coverage, and other benefits. Since 1975, practically all the gains in household income have gone to the top 20% of households. The response to the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001 showed the remarkable resilience of the economy. The war in March-April 2003 between a US-led coalition and Iraq, and the subsequent occupation of Iraq, required major shifts in national resources to the military. The rise in GDP in 2004-07 was undergirded by substantial gains in labor productivity. Hurricane Katrina caused extensive damage in the Gulf Coast region in August 2005, but had a small impact on overall GDP growth for the year. Soaring oil prices in 2005-2007 threatened inflation and unemployment, yet the economy continued to grow through year-end 2007. Imported oil accounts for about two-thirds of US consumption. Long-term problems include inadequate investment in economic infrastructure, rapidly rising medical and pension costs of an aging population, sizable trade and budget deficits, and stagnation of family income in the lower economic groups. The merchandise trade deficit reached a record $847 billion in 2007. Together, these problems caused a marked reduction in the value and status of the dollar worldwide in 2007.
D.
Val, I know about the suicide rate, and the problems at Walter Reed. I've had issues there before from my prior service, so I've known they were screwed up for a while...just didn't know how bad.
Everything else, I'll give a serious read to. At least you're not spewing the standard talking points.
It would be interesting to see how what else was on those bills that McCain voted against. I'm almost certain there's more to the story.
Here you go D 1. www.newswithviews.com/Devvy/kidd349.htm<br...) 2007 neglect scandal Main article: Walter Reed Army Medical Center neglect scandal In February of 2007, The Washington Post published a series of investigative articles outlining cases of alleged neglect (physical deterioration, bureaucratic nightmares, etc) at WRAMC as reported by outpatient soldiers and their family members. A scandal and media furor quickly developed resulting in the firing of the WRAMC commanding general Maj. Gen. George W. Weightman [3], the resignation of Secretary of the Army Francis J. Harvey (reportedly at the request of Secretary of Defense Robert Gates [4]), the forced resignation of Lt. Gen. Kevin C. Kiley, commander from 2002 to 2004[5], congressional committee hearings, and commentary from numerous politicians including President George W. Bush and Vice-President Dick Cheney. Several independent governmental investigations are ongoing and the controversy has spread to other military health facilities and the Department of Veterans Affairs health care system. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Reed_Army_Medical_Center_neglect_scandal

Regarding the democrats and the oil crises http://www.barackobama.com/issues/ http://www.barackobama.com/issues/energy/
Give me a break. The federal government takes in TRILLIONS and they cannot do without our money for 3 months?
The Democrat party has been the single largest barrier to energy independence in this country. No ANWR or off-shore drilling, no new refineries, no nuclear energy.
When people are 'dropping like flies' don't blame bush and Big Oil, thank your elected Democrats.
D.
Val, Late 20's.
I didn't say it wasn't a concern, I said it wasn't MY biggest one. I hold to the thought that we can have a great economy and fix the education/health care problems ourselves as a free people....or we can fix them after we've been placed under sharia law. I prefer doing it ourselves.
Yes, people die in the hands of their fellow citizens daily. But no one group in the US-at least to my knowledge-has the destruction of our country as their sworn goal. Of course our hands aren't clean; no country's is. But if we don't stand up and defend ourselves, who's gonna do it? We've tried isolationism and "waging peace"-and got Khobar Towers, the Cole bombing, and 9/11 in return.
If you've got evidence of people who've had to reimburse the military for lost time due to combat injuries, I'd love to see it. As a veteran, that would be a huge problem for me.
We're in agreement on the gas tax holiday. The benefit there doesn't outweigh the real and potential downsides. But see s' reponse above: there's a long term solution to the oil crisis in ANWR, but the dems won't let us touch it.....
Val
D - one more. The gas tax holidays is not about just a few pennies. Their is no guarantee that the gas companies would pass the savings down to the consumers. However bigger than that is the fact that we would lose millions of dollars in that short period of time. This money goes toward transportation, roads etc. THOUSANDS of people would be laid off. No funding.
That is the larger picture. No need to worry about terrorism, jihadism and islamic extremeism because folks will be dropping like flies this summer when they can't afford to pay for air conditioning and they pass out from the heat. God knows many won't be able to afford the ambulance trip to the hospital, and some will be turned back because they can't afford healthcare.
s
price of gas and food...
______________________________________
Oh yeah, and lets not forget that the dems have not allowed us to develop or drill for any new sources of oil, no new refineries, no nuclear energy, yet they are the ones to pander to voters and demonize the 'big oil companies.'
Obama wants to create green collar jobs, but ethanol production is raising food prices around the world.
Val
D - WHATTTTTTT You have got to be kidding me. I understand you are at work but when you get off you need to take off your belt and spank yourself. I can't believe you said the economy is not one of your concerns. Do you mind me asking just how old are you? Again, just want to understand. If the economy is not currently an issue for you it really should be. Look around people are getting laid off, folks are losing their jobs, did you know that the price of a 10 lb bag of off brand rice in the off brand grocery store is $18.00? Senior citizens are forced to eat dog food or to purchase staples and cannot afford any meat. They are closing down shelters because of lack of funding. People are losing their homes. Seniors can't retire with dignity but have to take jobs at walmart etc. just to make ends meet. The price of gas is increasing, oil is through the roof, taxes for the middle class is causing folks to take home less and less and sending your child to college is not an option. We can't afford to build/repair roads and our bridges . . .
Regarding making our country safe -- look at the crime rate where you currently live. Then look at it across the US. We are killing ourselves, young people (especially black people) are being locked up on the regular. How safe are we? We have more to fear from our fellow citizens than we do from folks overseas. Recognize that our hands are not clean. Some would argue that the USA are considered terrorists. Depends on your perceptions.
D -- I am happy you found this blog. I would love the opportunity to continue discussions with you because we could benefit from conversations with each other.
Also, wanting to ensure the military is not depleted is not a reason to subject our military to indentured servitude. That is like saying we want to make sure there are folks to pick the cotton and build the country so we will promise them if they work for XYX they will get 3 acres and a mule. It is wrong. The decision to serve in the military is an honorable one so we in turn should not try to "trick" them into getting what they have already earned. Right now we have disabled vets that have not received their benefits. Some of them are told they have to reimburse the military wages because they were released because they lost limbs, they did not serve the agreed upon term. So they owe them.
D -- think about it.
s
d,
Your comments perfectly illustrate the great divide between Obama supporters and voters who see the wars in Iraq and Afghanastan, as 'the war' against terrorism, jihadism and islamic extremeism.
For those who believe the primary responsibilities of the president of the United States are: Keeping America safe,Being an effective Commander and Chief of the Armed Forces, and Leading this nation's foreign policy, Obama is a less than ideal candidate.
Contrary to popular belief, there really is very little the President can do to 'fix' the economy.
Keeping taxes low, is probably the biggest impact a president can have on the economy, but Obama has promised to raise taxes on individuals and corporations alike.

Hillary Campaign Says No To New Michigan Delegate Proposal
I say let's pressure him--because we don't have to watch his movies. I've already sent him a letter. I suggest fellow JJP posters do the same. Here is his address: Mr. Harvey Weinstein The Weinstein Company 345 Hudson St. 13th Floor New York, NY 10014

Val, Gonna give this a rush job, cause I'm sitting at work:
1. McCain-by his own admission-does not have that great of a grasp on economic issues. That's not the top thing on my list of important issues, so it's not a deal breaker for me (though it is a concern, 'less Romney's VP).
2. I don't think the gas tax holiday's smart....you're essentially robbing Peter (the nation's higways) to save Paul (the consumer) a few bucks.
3. McCain wanted to make sure that the ranks of the military weren't further depleted by an enticement to go to college. When the GI Bill was signed after WWII, there was an outfulx of people leaving the service to go to school. Fair enough; there wasn't a major conflict for a few years. Something like that can't/shouldn't happen under present circumstances.
My major issue (and this is where the eye rolling from certain posters here will begin) is electing the candidate who will keep the country safe from terrorism and jihadist thought. If you listen to most of Obama's speeches, you don't hear the words "terrorism," "extremism" or references to jihadist thought that often (if at all). To me, that speaks to a certain unawareness of an important issue.
To me, McCain's the best qualified of the three.
And, Ms. Martin, I'm all for bombing Iran back to the stone age if necessary. That's to get on your nerves. :)
Val
I can't help it. I love slightly "senile" old men. They are cute to me. However, with a state of mind like McCain I wouldn't put them in charge of driving themselves to their doctor's appoint much less running the country. One has nothing to do with the other. C'mon, you never know what he is going to say next. i.e. the Iraq war was waged for oil. lolol I can't help it. sick I guess. But I do get a kick out of it.
Ms.Martin
Val
How sweet is a man singing bomb bomb Iran?
Val
D - one more thing - when you read the bill that McCain is adopting -- doesn't it sound a bit like indentured servitude to you? The only way we will cover the cost of education for our veterans and their families is to lock them into extensive service for the country? Didn't they already earn it? What of the ones that have died. Will their relative still earn that right to go to school? And for the ones that are still serving if they are disabled, will they and their families still get the coverage or will it stop? I am guessing the latter based on McCain's comments. :-) We all know McCain has a penchant for telling the truth if someone isnt there to stop him. So I saw what Burr wrote in the article you provided but I am guessing it is more as McCain said -- McCain told reporters Monday he was working on alternative legislation aimed at ensuring that troops do not leave the military earlier than planned to go to college.
Val
Again, Welcome D -
I am attempting to understand what would draw you to McCain. Don't get me wrong I think McCain is sweet and he is a great American hero but when it comes to the real issues of this country i.e. economy, housing crises, the price of gas and food. . . I don't think he can address those issues successfully. So educate me. How do you feel about McCain's economic plan and his ability to get us out of the situation we are in (i.e. trillion dollars in debt, billions of dollars spent in the war in Iraq etc.) and what do you know about his plans to address the housing crises in this country, addressing the foreclosure issue and what do you think about him pushing the gas tax holiday over the last few weeks?
D.
Justice, I don't disagree. Don't interpret my defending HRC's right to stay in the race as support for her. :)
Val, McCain has signed on to a different bill to modernize the GI Bill.
From the Charlotte Observer on May 5th:
3 Carolinas senators pitch GI bill update GOP trio breaks from earlier bipartisan plan co-sponsored by 57 Momentum is gathering for an update to the Montgomery GI bill.
But three Carolinas senators are going against the tide with legislation they offered last week as an alternative to one that has 57 bipartisan co-sponsors.
Sens. Richard Burr, R-N.C., and Elizabeth Dole, R-N.C., and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., are joined by Sen. John McCain of Arizona, the presumptive Republican nominee for president.
Their bill has a unique feature that would allow service members to transfer some of the educational credit they earn to other members of their family, a portion that would increase the longer they stayed in the military.
Burr said he's opposed to the bill sponsored by Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., because it bases the amount of the benefit on the most expensive public school in the state where a military member chooses to enroll.
He said the benefit would be about $5,200 to go to school in North Carolina, based on tuition at UNC Chapel Hill, but it would be more than $10,000 to go to school in Michigan, a figure determined by an art and design program.
"Two GIs, same commitment, getting two incredibly different packages," Burr said. "I believe one of our responsibilities is to treat everyone equitably, the GIs themselves, but also the state."
My personal is that both bills are good. McCain's chosen the one he wants to support, and I don't fault him for that.
justice58
oh d,
I just wanted to add--f%%% her!
justice58
d,
You know what's up!
He is leading in about everything. Sure, it's going to take the Super Delegates to take him over the top--so why not right now! Hillary lost the race back in February! She's just stunned that she's done!
Val
D - how do you feel about McCain's opposition of Webb's GI bill?
WASHINGTON - Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, has suggested he would oppose a bipartisan measure by Virginia Sen. Jim Webb to expand college tuition benefits for military veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan.
McCain told reporters Monday he was working on alternative legislation aimed at ensuring that troops do not leave the military earlier than planned to go to college.
McCain's new move comes as a blow to Webb, a freshman Democrat and former Navy secretary who had been quietly building bipartisan support for months.
Webb's GI Bill, a centerpiece of his 2006 campaign, would pay the college tuition of many military veterans who have served since the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The amount of tuition paid would not exceed the cost of the most expensive state school in a veteran's home state, in most cases.
The current Montgomery GI Bill pays only a small fraction of the cost of college today.
I'm a McCain supporter; thought that was pretty obvious from most of my comments here.
I'll concede the fact that Obama is-most likely-the democratic nominee. Honestly-and I've said this before-McCain vs. Obama will be a hell of a lot more competitive that McCain vs. Clinton.
But, let's be real here: Obama is winning the race for the democratic nomination, but he hasn't won it. So HRC is well within her right to stay in the race. Hell, Ron Paul's still officially running, and McCain would have to die (along with Huckabee, Romney and others) for him to get the nomination.
Y'all are winning, yes. HRC can't catch you, yes. But you haven't won yet.
Val
My guess is D is a McCain supporter. You can tell by the tie in the pic. lol
Hi D - whassup?
Val
Yes we should Ms Martin. I must say though when Buchanan made those comments Shrum or Kerry was not having it. You could practically see his white hood and Shrum especially was not having any part of it.
Ms.Martin
D
I'm confused - do you support McCain or Clinton or are you just here to get on everybody's fucking nerves?
Ms.Martin
All folks that are against racism need to start pounding on the DNC again for those statements she made to USA Today.
We will vote for a party that allows obvious racism from a Democratic candidate?
D.
Justice, Does Obama have the 2,025 delegates required to become the nominee?
Val
Ms Martin - I saw that too regarding Shrum. I also heard Pat Buchanan saying Hillary is right. Blacks always vote democratic so there is no need to worry about what they will do in the fall. He said blacks were voting for Barack because of his color. The only real vote that counts and has cause for concern is the white middle class vote. Shrum and Kerry had responses for that comment.

Ms.Martin
I am convinced that HRC's campaign is no longer about strategy - it is about pure hate and revenge against the AAs who did not support her in spite of her and Bill's behavior.
Ms.Martin
When asked by Andrea Mitchell, Bob Shrum came right on out and said that Hillary played the race card today with the statements she made to the USA today.
Everybody knows it and the superdelegates need to end it BASED ON THAT FACT ALONE.
Unless of course their racists too.
D.
He can't declare victory if he doesn't have the number of delegates required. Even if you don't count MI/FL, he still won't have 2,025.
That would be a stupid move, and would all but guarantee that HRC's remaining dogs would come out.
If Obama wants to be the front runner, the best thing is to just say nothing. Acting like a stubborn kid throwing an "I won!!" fit isn't helpful.

I agree with adam. I think everyone is getting over-emotional about Hillary Clinton (and I was included in that until today).
I really think that just like the media pile on and "tears" episode before New Hampshire...we are playing into the narrative of Hillary "the victim".
I believe she should be giving enough rope to strangle her own campaign.
The math is with Obama even with MI and Florida delegates counted. It's a wrap. The only way she can get this nomination is if she gets the SD to overrule.
That's the truth, everything else is moot, especially since we have a HUGE battle coming up in the General and that, to me, is the most important focus right now.

I don't believe anyone believes their numbers anymore. And, only the near loss in Indiana got them to spill it. The rapidity with which that 6.4 million dollar loan was dropped makes me believe they've known for awhile and kept their mouths shut, because it didn't fit into the narrative they were trying to shill for the Clintons.
Just saw on MSNBC Obama walking with a group of Superdelegates in Washington. Had a nice smile on his face.
Val - I'm with you, I just think that the energy it would take to force Sen. Clinton out just isn't worth it.

Earlier this morning - I was pushing for Hillary to drop out of the race but I thought things through and decided she SHOULD stay in. Let her grow broke. She will have to front her own money so let her go for it. She is not going to be the nominee. Barack should have his folks working to respond to any attacks from her but shouldn't waste any more real time addressing her. He should just go after McCain and prepare for the Nov election.
I am really feeling the "let her run" vibe now that so much of the media and others are telling Barack that he will "have to pay off her debts" to include her personal loan to her campaign. I just spent over 1 hour posting to blogs regarding Hillary's need to get in line with that reparations argument. I do not want one penny of my hard earned money going to that flagrant liar. Especially when she is as we speak "stoking the racial fire" with her "hard working white working class" innuendos.
Let her continue to run. Let them pay for whatever they want to pay for -- Go Barack - prepare to fight McCain.

Sometimes I think that when Obama tells his staff "back away and give Sen. Clinton space" he was really saying . . .
Back away and give Sen. Clinton space . . . because she is about to go insane!
Sen. Clinton is an ugly death spiral that is going turn off blacks, progressive whites, young voters, gays, etc. even while it picks up the "Bubba" vote that she so desperately craves.
I know we all want Obama, or some members of the Democratic Party to "force" Sen. Clinton out but I happen to like Obama's current strategy better . . .
Bring the superdelegates over, close the deal in Oregon and then dare the DNC to do something stupid and try to take the nomination away.
Right now Sen. Clinton is a crazy hobo posted up by the liquor store. Getting near her is dangerous because she is liable to lash out and do and say anything. Better to let the combined force of money, momentum and votes do the work for you

It has been suggested that Clinton might be staying in to negotiate what she might want out of this; i.e. Obama's campaign to pay her debts; have a say in who the VP is if not her; such as Evan Bayh; push Obama on her mandate for health coverage.
D.
Obama/Pelosi-first black president, first female vice president, first administration to lose a war.
Nice.
The Bag of Health and Politics
Kathleen Sebelius would be a hell of a choice. As would Clarie McCaskill be. As would Mary Landreiu and Blanche Lincoln be. As would Debbie Stabnow would be. As Maria Cantwell and Patricia Murray would be. As would Diane Feinstein and Barbara Boxer be. As Ruth Ann Minner would be. As Nancy Pelosi would be.
If Barack wants to go that route, there are plenty of options. I think the best option is Obama/Pelosi, but they'd all be fine. Landreiu and Sebelius have geographic advantages working for them...
Let us all remember that this is the choice of the nominee alone. Barack won the nomination, he gets to chose the VP nominee. Period. I trust his judgment. I doubt Hillary Clinton will be on the ticket. Not impossible, but doubtful.

Chuck Todd on Hardball yesterday:
I'm liking Chuck Todd more and more. He's been one of the more credible pundits out there.
Obama knows this, and while I would love for him to do what Rachel Maddow says - SHOVE HER OFF THE STAGE - he can't do that, lest he becomes the Big Black Brute to her White Woman Victim.
What would be poetic is if Barack already had a female Veep nominee, and had her shove Billary off the stage.

"Tuesday, May 06, 2008 Hillaryland Hillaryland is the land of pander and scare, of lies and innuendo, of a poison pen and the telephone call at 3 AM, and hustling, stunts, and sharp elbows - of backlash, bailouts and shifting goalpost grabs - the land of fabulist knife fights, nuclear options, and anything to win.
sounds familiar:

You are preachin to the choir Rikyrah. I don't believe anything that is posted in the articles especially after Hillary announced she is staying in the race. I certainly don't believe the Huffington Post and the other media outlets proclaimation that Hillary will be out by June 15. Why June 15? What is expected to happen between now and 6 weeks from now that will change anything. I say - bullshit.
This is just a trick to get folks to step back and give HIllary some breathing room to do whatever she wants to do without the folks watching every move. My recommendation to Barack and the supporters would be -- watch your back.
This is where the backroom deals begin. I was especially concerned with Pelosi's statement House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California, said Wednesday that the Democratic presidential race is not over yet and that it is still possible for Senator Hillary Clinton to win.
Now with HIllary's proclamation that Barack is not winning over hardworking white Americans. I believe now is the time when we have to shout the loudest and protest the obvious divisive statement. She is now calling on all racists to vote against Obama and legitimizing it. Obama's campaign should respond to this. Kerry and the other's should respond to this.

Chuck Todd on Hardball yesterday:
He was referencing the Pennsylvania and North Carolina primaries and made the following distinction:
Pennsylvania was an election of people thinking about yesterday, North Carolina was sort of a future vote, that that is a vote for the future, you know a tomorrow type vote, a tomorrow type electorate.
And then Tweety got a little emotional and introspective, when he said that the colleges down there in NC had pulled that state into the future. It was very heartfelt from him, I could see that.
Paraphrasing David Gergen on CNN last night about the ' Unity' Ticket:
On CNN David Gergen was asked whether he thought Obama should consider Hillary Clinton for VP. David said with a very straight face, “He would need a food taster if he does.”
Obama getting out of a plane with a painted flag that has 16 stars.
Oh, my God.
THAT will make the right wing's day.
The Bag of Health and Politics
The flag on Barack's plane can't have just 16 stars. It needs to be bigger--and it needs to have 50 stars. Barack's been called up from Triple A. Appearances matter in the big leagues. Hillary's been released by the Democratic Party. A glorious day indeed!

b-serious,
I doubt the Obama campaign believes one word of the ' space' mantra. I really don't. But, they can't be seen as shoving her out. Of course, if the situations were reversed, they'd be mocking him at every frigging turn, and we know it. Double standard and all.
The thing is, b-serious,
HER supporters antagonism towards Obama isn't based in reality. Ask them WHY they hate Obama, and they can't point to any reason, other than 'He should have waited his turn. Doesn't he know that this was HER turn? Uppity #)$*@.'
Now, you, me, craig, and every other Obama supporter, and even non-supporters, but Hillpatine haters, can point to a laundry list of things that we can NAME that her, her surrogates, her campaign have done to gain our hatred.
Their list wouldn't fit into a thimble and basically comes down to White Entitlement.
Obama knows this, and while I would love for him to do what Rachel Maddow says - SHOVE HER OFF THE STAGE - he can't do that, lest he becomes the Big Black Brute to her White Woman Victim.
Interesting thing to look out for today....see what fundraising numbers they post (lie). You know 'they say' they raised 10 million after PA. I never believed him...let's see what they say....If the day passes and nothing is announced, the money situation is as bad as I believe it to be.
rikyrah
val,
I'm not believing it about the money. Not in the least. But,we'll see what lies they tell. Nobody who loans themselves six million is in good shape. How could you believe anything that comes out of their mouths.
Val
Rikyrah - yesterday on MSNBC one of Clinton's surrogates said they would release last month's fundraising money today. We will see if that happens.
I also agree - a 50/50 split is the only fair option. There were many people who did not vote because they were told their vote would not count. The DNC said they would MI and FL would be seated at the convention but with some penalties.
B-Serious
Alright, is anyone else sick of this "give Hillary space," crap?
Does anyone buy this?
I'm talking about the new media narrative that says Clinton knows she's lost the nomination, but everyone needs to give her space so she can bow out with grace.
Are you kidding me? Apparently Obama's fine with this. But I'm not buying it.
And, despite what some pundits say, she is still running a negative campaign. She's played the race and gender card in the past 48 hours alone.
Plus, she's still stuck on this FL/MI argument.
I'm watching Morning Joe only to see Howard Wolfson trash Obama's health and economic platforms while basically calling him an elitist.
When are people (Obama included) going to wake up. Hillary doesn't need space. . . SHE NEEDS TIME!!!
She needs time to try and dig up some dirt. She needs time to start some drama. She needs time to play the victim. She needs time to smear.
She needs more time to make Obama the WEAKEST nominee he can possibly be.
She needs time. . . but she's doing this all under the guise of "she needs space."
Obama better have an insurance policy. He better work those super delegates extra hard. And he'd better start rolling them out 8-10 at a time.
No one should trust anything that comes our of Hillary or Bill's mouth.
Haven't we seen this movie before? Hillary shows humility only to turn right back around and slap Obama in the face.
It happened with her cry in New Hampshire. . . her "I'm honored to be on stage with you" moment in Texas. . . and now this.
She needs to get out NOW. And Obama needs to find a way to keep the pressure on her. Screw "space."
I don't know if it was a JJP reader to led me to this link, if so, I apologize for posting it again, but Sally Quinn, for all her faults, has been on the mark, with the Reverend Wright issue, as well as the Hillpatine issue.
I think it's all bull, because if the situations were reversed, the only thing we'd be hearing with regards to MI/FL is ' follow the rules'....'follow the rules'....
Nobody believes that they won't be SEATED...the question is...will they be COUNTED....
D.
It ain't my plan!!! LOL.
Can't say I disagree, though. A 50/50 split seems like it would be equitable.
My personal is that MI/FL's delegates should be seated in some way. It's one of the few things (I think there's only 2) that I agree with Clinton on.
Do you-or anyone-see a possibility for backlash against Obama in MI/FL since he's against seating those delegates?
rikyrah
The Black Snob does a great Pictorial Diary of the Family Obama during this past weekend. What a photogenic bunch.
now, I'm waiting for Craig Hickman to drop why Hillary Rodham Nixon has offended him today, and my JJP world will be in balance.
Can't go a day without Craig making me smile seeing Hillary Rodham Nixon in the comments section...I kid him, but it does crack me up everytime I see it, because in that one phrase, Craig has NAILED her to the wall. And, I don't believe the truth can be repeated often enough.
rikyrah
d,
his name wasn't on the frigging ballott!
Split that in half.
B-Serious
I am so sick and tired of the Clintons and everything they stand for.
Sorry, I just felt the need to say that this morning.
"Under one plan, presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton would get 73 pledged delegates while rival Barack Obama got 55, based on the Jan. 15 primary results. The state's 28 superdelegates would get a full vote at the convention, but the pledged delegates would get only half a vote.
Under the other, the pledged delegates would be split 69-59 between Clinton and Obama, shrinking Clinton's delegate edge from 18 to 10. The 28 superdelegates also would be seated."
I told you all that the most insightful thing I read on Huffingtonpost in awhile was the opinion piece, right after Pennsylvania, that said that Obama had basically competed as hard as he did in Pennsylvania, because he wanted to force her into bankruptcy. I didn't actually believe it when I read it, but now, looking at it, I believe the author was correct.
She's loaning her campaign another 6 million bucks, and I don't see anymore bragging emails about what she's raised in 24 hours, do you?
I am curious as to why the Obama csmpaign hasn't released their numbers...I think they want the Clintons to release theirs first, so that they can stomp them.
