Obama doesn’t have a poor-white-voter problem. Poor-white-voters have an Obama problem.

But that’s the premise the Clinton campaign (and Clinton herself) has put forth: whites will not vote for Obama because he’s black, so she needs to be the nominee because she can pull in those white voters that he can’t by virtue of his unelectability aka black skin.

She and her campaign will keep repeating the meme “He can’t win whites, he only wins blacks and elites.” This has to be repeated over and over so that it takes root in people’s minds and influences their decision and future thoughts. Obama has a problem with white voters in the Appalachian region. Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee and Virginia… Every state that close in proximity to this Appalachian region he loses, with the exception of Virginia which is having a split personality with the populous and Democratic NoVa at odds with the Republican rest of the state.

Hillary Clinton isn’t going to get out of this race, period. The only way she will get out is when she is put out at the convention in Denver. She’s taking this to the convention, and if Florida and Michigan are not seated to her satisfaction, she will file a lawsuit to get it suited to her satisfaction.

Do I think every white Clinton supporter is racist? No, but she and her campaign have put out the racial fog horn and is attracting more and more whites who vote on racial lines. And for anyone who says “Blacks are voting for Obama 92%,” I have never heard a black person say they wouldn’t vote for Clinton because she’s white. Can’t say the same about Clinton Supporters.

P.S.: Voter turnout in West Virginia was lower than expected. She didn’t do much better than John Kerry in 2004 who received 175,065 votes, 69%, well after the nomination was decided. She was expecting to net about 200,000 votes, but she’ll only net a little over 100,000. This can not be accurately characterized as an outpouring of support to salvage her campaign. Moreover, it’s utter bull shit that a primary is a reliable predictor of the general. If it was, John Kerry would have won West Virginia.

Thanks, Pamela. You beat me to the punch. According to the CBS Exit Polls out of WV, 85% of HRC’s voters said race was the single most important factor. And this is why WV is ass-backwards–because 65+% of the democratic voters are too stupid to see beyond race.

20% of white West Virginians voting in the Democratic primary said race was a factor. 20% of DEMOCRATS, the party that is supposedly doing better with race relations (insert snark)!!! That alone should be deeply troubling, but when 2/3 of those people then say they would never vote for Barack Obama, it’s hard to say that racism isn’t playing a role.

The West Virginia results are deeply troubling, but not from a perspective of Obama’s electability. It’s troubling because it exposes unsettling truths about ourselves.

Yes that is racist. But if a group of people say they don’t like a candidate because of the way she ran his/her race and the race baiting she has enlisted in, then no it is not racist.

I have no disrespect for people who support Hillary because their belief she will do a better job.

I agree, because a lot of black people who vote for Obama are not racist. However when a group of people say they will not vote for a candidate because he is black, muslim (which he is not) or a mixed breed then that is racist. And in reading a lot of news/blog responses that seems to be a big part of the argument.
