Popular vote is not a metric by which the Democratic nominee is determined. In addition, the popular vote numbers are not available for caucus states.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House on Tuesday denied a published report in Israel that said President Bush intends to attack Iran before the end of his term in January.

A story in the Jerusalem Post quoted a “senior official” there as saying that Bush plans to attack Iran in the coming months. The story says the unidentified official claimed that a “senior member” of Bush’s traveling entourage made the statement about attacking Iran in a closed meeting. Bush was in Israel last week.

The article also says the unnamed Bush official said that Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney “were of the opinion that military action were called for.”

“An article in today’s Jerusalem Post about the president’s position on Iran that quotes unnamed sources — quoting unnamed sources — is not worth the paper it’s written on,” White House press secretary Dana Perino said in a statement.

“Let me respond by reaffirming the policy of the administration: We, along with our international allies who want peace in the Middle East, remain opposed to Iran’s ambitions to obtain a nuclear weapon,” Perino said. “To that end, we are working to bring tough diplomatic and economic pressure on the Iranians to get them to change their behavior and to halt their uranium enrichment program.”

McKinnon To Step Aside From McCain Effort
Mark McKinnon, the lead media consultant for Sen. John McCain’s (Ariz.) presidential bid, is stepping down from that role — making good on a pledge he made last year not to work against Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) in the fall campaign.

“I just don’t want to work against an Obama candidacy,” McKinnon told Cox Washington bureau chief Ken Herman; electing Obama, he added, “would send a great message to the country and the world.” McKinnon said at the time he would vote for McCain.

He’s broken astronomical records with fundraising and there has to be a way to financially make that possible. I suppose the glitch will be this campaign financing stuff. If he opts into public federal funding, which would be significantly lower.

It was one thing when there was a possibility for Clinton to win – from the point that she couldn’t, it’s was an entirely different matter.

democrats will vote for the democratic candidate. swing voters and independents will have to be won over… wait, obama has been winnig many of them already.

add a weak candidate like mccain, a republican party at its lowest and an incumbent republican president who almost everbody despises, then all that will result in the next president being a democrat. (and now we know why hillary is so furious.)
