I was in shock! That town was very racist when I lived there. We had one black woman working at the local hospital and one of the Democratic matriarches of the community saw her at work one day and said to me, "why is she here? she needs to go back to DC where her own kind are." I lived in rural Nevada up until about 2 years ago when I finally got my husband to agree to escape to Reno.

I promise you that the rural vote in Nevada is white and they came out for Obama in droves!
