I’ve known this for years, and, any black person who is foolish enough to smoke really needs a clue. Blacks die of more smoking related diseases than anyone else, and at a faster rate after being diagnosed. And, the whole thing is that you know its bad for you since blacks always seem to get one thing that other smokers don’t, their lips turn a odd grayish black.

But, that said, I don’t agree with bans and I’m a nonsmoker, its still a legal product, and, I for one wish the same zealots who want to ban smoking would put that effort against alcohol as the drunk drivers scare me more than anyone with a Newport.

I’m pretty much against this, not just because I enjoy a Mentholated Smoke every now and again. I do. It just seems, like fatty foods, people already know that smoking is bad for you. Between the sign on the pack and the commercials for it, society has gotten the point. And also, like you said, smoking is a choice. If you know it can kill you and make no effort to stop, then you have made another choice.
They are trying to ban public indoor smoking (bars, casinos…) in Michigan and I have mixed feelings about that. I don’t smoke much and I would miss doing it in a warm place. However, I am aware of the danger of second hand smoke.
Oh and I still have old Ebony’s with Black people happy and smoking cigarettes.

My dad used to smoke Kool 100′s. I hated it! The entire house would be covered in smoke in a matter of minutes.
