Exactly. It’s a poverty draft and that’s the way they like it.

The G.I. Bill was one of the best government programs America ever did – it created the modern Middle-Class.

Along with unions and the New Deal and corporations held to account for their employees.

And, the New G.I. Bill just wanted to give those opportunities to the present generation of veterans.

And the reason Bush, Cheney, McCain, et al do not support the bill?

I am proud to stand with Senator Webb and a bipartisan coalition to give our veterans the support and opportunity they deserve. It’s disappointing that Senator McCain and his campaign used this issue to launch yet another lengthy personal, political attack instead of debating an honest policy difference. He should know that this is not about John McCain or Barack Obama – it’s about giving our veterans a real chance to afford four years of college without harming retention. Senator Webb’s bipartisan bill will do this, and the bill that John McCain supports would not. These endless diatribes and schoolyard taunts from the McCain campaign do nothing to advance the debate about what matters to the American people.

McBush better be careful. He’s going to blow a gasket.

(Oh, and this no-show allows him to stretch his lead over Obama in most votes missed since they were both members of the Senate. McCain was at a fundraiser in “elitist” California during today’s vote. Just saying.)

As most of you know, the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee is meeting on May 31st to try and resolve the issue of seating the Florida and Michigan delegates.

I think they need to hear our voices on this! I know that the HRC campaign website is urging their supporters to contact committee members on this matter.

As always, be firm but also polite and respectful.

A more efficient approach, however, might be to simply copy and paste all the email addresses (below) and send a single email, starting with “Dear DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee Member… “. If you don’t want the sender to know who else you’ve sent the email to, then copy and paste these addresses into the “bcc” address window of you email application – each person who receives the email won’t know who else was sent the email.

Again– if you can show up, act respectfully. Make it multiethnic– bring in your Latino and white friends, Asian, native American, Pacific Islander– and be optimistic.

5. “Democrats for fair play, Michigan and Florida for Obama!”

6. “Ex-Clinton supporters in Michigan and Florida for Obama! We support those who follow the rules and campaign!”

Obviously use your creativity but stay positive and respectful!

A Note on Public Participation

This meeting is open to the public, however due to space constraints,
guests are being asked to pre-register their attendance. Registration
will open online at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 27. Members of the public
wishing to register should fill out the form at the following link:

. Those lacking Internet access who would like to pre-register can
do so by calling 202-479-5137.

Guest credentials are limited to one per person. For those who
register, a confirmation message will be sent to the e-mail address
indicated on the registration form. Registrants must bring that
confirmation e-mail, along with a photo ID, in order to pick up their
guest credential.

Credentials must be picked up at registration tables located outside
the meeting room between 8:00-9:30 AM on May 31st in order to
guarantee a seat. If reserved credentials are not picked up by 9:30
AM, they will be released and given out to other members of the public.

Same Day Registration

If a member of the general public is unable to pre-register, limited
same-day registration will be available. Same-day guest credentials
will be distributed on a first-come first-serve basis and are limited
to one per person. Individuals with a same day guest credential will
be allowed into the meeting as space permits.

Additional Information

In order to maintain the decorum of the meeting, banners, posters,
signs, handouts, and noisemakers of any kind are strictly prohibited.
