Some of us have done endorsement declarations for Obama. just use the search engine. I know we tried to write up our endorsements before Iowa.
TLW
Could somebody please tell me why people on this board have seemingly endorsed Obama? What makes him any different than any other politician because I just can't see it. You guys have placed so much faith in Obama and I feel that is dangerous because one should always have a healthy mistrust of all politicians because well, they are politicians.
Ms.Martin
Thanks Rikyrah

Ms. Martin,
Here's Eugene Robinson from tonight:
Olbermann:Some snark is included in this question, but, as an African-American male, can you tell us all about the advantage you've had in life, that's given you a 90-10 advantage against any White man or woman against whom you've had to compete.
Robinson: How many more segments do we have? I don't know if we have the time tonight to go through all of them...
all the kind of fresh air and exercise you get late at night when cabs don't pick you up...
all the personal shopper attention you get in department stores because security personnel are nice enough to follow you around...
the list is almost endless, Keith..
and I think we're going to have to do a one hour special on all the great advantages of being born a Black man in America...
Robinson ends by saying that there is one great advantage of being a Black man in America - how people underestimate him.
" If I were Barack Obama...keep underestimating me."
You tell 'em, Eugene.

I don't even have to have seen Larry King to know that if Nutter was on, he was saying something ridiculous as an Uncle Ruckus for HIllary - he always does. And he ALWAYS goes personal against Barack.
Ms.Martin
Truthseeker:
I felt that too! Nutter seems to always have an attitude when someone speaks about or in defense of Obama. He even commented to the woman who said she had lived in Pennsylvania all her life.
I am tired of watching Kiki grin while someone's making a point about Obama.
TruthSeeker
Jamaal on Larry King made a really great point re the "elitist" attacks. He said Barack has done everything expected of him..studied hard, gave back to his community and yet the Clinton campaign was calling him elitist. He went on to say it wasn't good for our children to get that message when we're trying to get them to do the right things. It was an excellent point, and Nutter jumped in and gave a ridiculous non-answer ending with this is a campaign and things are said. He couldn't allow the point to stand.
It was clear there was a little rivalry between him and Jamaal, with Nutter's responses taking on a jeering quality.
Ms.Martin
Rikyrah
Didn't see it. Would you please post it - I love Eugene Robinson
rikyrah
Sometimes Black people are just hilarious. Did anyone catch Eugene Robinson on Countdown tonight? He had me LMAO when he went through his list of all the 'blessings' of being a Black Man in America. It was frigging hilarious, and sometimes, you can make a point, with his laid back, almost jovial style...it was harsh, and I wonder if the White audience knew just how biting Robinson was being.
I rewound it a couple of times because it just cracked me up.
We'll have to do an hour special, Keith, on all the ADVANTAGES of being born a Black Man in America

Hillary/Media's 'bitter' tactic against Obama desperately PITIFUL !
Here we go again ! When the campaign started in 2007 Obama was said to have not been 'black enough' as per the media as they touted Hillary's 82% support from Black Americans. The Clinton camp scrounged and dug as deeply as they could to find some kind....ANY kind of smut they could use against Obama, even searching as far back as his kindergarten writings. Couldn't find a thing. Then as Americans of all races learned more about the real Clintons, while learning more about the great qualities and capabilities of Obama, the inevitable was no more. So the Clintons (and the media) decided if they couldn't find anything negative on Obama, why not search through video tapes of Obama's preacher. Yea ! That's the ticket. So they scrounged and searched through years and years of video taped sermons and found a few somewhat harsh statements from the preacher....looped them all together....played them on the news 1 or 2 million times, in hopes that they could paint Obama as this anti-American-black militant type person....exactly what he is not (maybe they forgot he's also half white). But, polls showed their masterminded plot to be ineffective. Now what ? Ahhhhh. Obama makes a statement discussing how many Americans are fed up with government failures and are 'bitter'. The Clintons....McCain....the media....ALL decide....here's something we can jump on top of.....Obama called Americans 'bitter' ! So he's an elitist out of touch with real America!
This is the weakest attempt so far. How in the world can they try to claim that a little black boy who's father left at age 2....raised by a single white mother...so broke at times that she was on food stamps....a boy who grew up and went to college through grants and scholarships....riding to school daily in a ragedy jalopy.....just recently paying off his student loans thanks to proceeds from a book he wrote....(entitled 'The Audacity of HOPE') who's entire life has been devoted to helping the disadvantaged....the poor....sick....the struggling....THIS IS AN ELITIST ?
Hillary, McCain and the entire media should be ashamed of themselves for this weak, pitiful attempt to literally make-up truth. They should be concentrating on REAL facts such as the 109 million the Clintons have made during the last few years...or the 300 mill McCain's wife is worth.....or what about Hillary's secret religion known as 'The Family' which CNN didn't ask a single question about in the so-called religious forum...or what about her election fraud case going on right now in California? Did we mention McCain's wife's stealing of drugs and her rehab stint ? There's so much more....it's pitiful !
The fact is.....Obama is about as elitist as Hillary ducked sniper fire in Bosnia....Stay focused people. They are all (Hillary, McCain and the media) getting more and more desperate everyday. That's a real good sign !
Obama is careful not attack Clinton because he will have the unenviable task of uniting the party after this nasty battle. There are hard core dems who are pissed and if he is viewed as piling it on HRC, they will either stay home or flock to McCain.
And he needs them to win.

I want to know why people (particuraly Black people) have so much faith in Obama? From my POV he is just another politician. I refuse to put so much faith in a politician because we have been bamboozled in the past so many times and I am getting the feeling that we are just setting ourselves up once again.
Ms.Martin
I love Rachel Maddow. I know whenever she analyzes something she will tell the truth.
She messed up the fun fest they were having about "bitter" with the truth. Joe Scarborough would have shot her had he had a gun.
Ms.Martin
Obama will be on Real Sports with Gumble tonight also.
I saw Colbert on Larry King last night. His jokes about Hillary were hillarious. He said while Obama's at the podium accepting the nomination Hillary will bust through his chest like Alien to steal it away. ILMAO.
He also said she could never be to injured to accept the nomination - if she were missing all limbs, she would use her stomach muscles to propel herself foward to accept the nomination.
Faith
How the traditional media and citizens are not giving enough attention to the Bush administration approval of torture, violating the Geneva Convention and Habeas Corpus. Also of course the fact that Congress did nothing to stop this save Barbara Lee. That means the Democrats are equally responsible for this mess we are in - and the we the people did nothing!

Obama's response to Clinton's "bitter" attack ad....
The man who wrote Lanny Davis is a former Clintonite turned Obama supporter Jeh Johnson. He was profiled in the New York Times last year for his Obama fundraising efforts.
I'm with you...sometimes I want Barack to come out and attack her back with the same tools that she uses against him. But he knows he has to be careful if he wants HER supporters in the general.
I don't think I ever disliked someone so much...until this primary season.

Did you see Bob Johnson's latest kneegrow eruption about Obama in the Charlotte Observer?
Yep.
It's almost scary to think of Uncle Ruckus with a billion dollars, but here it is in real life. Makes me shudder with disgust.
What color is his jockey suit? I think hot pink would go well with his skin tone.

From Politico.com's Ben Smith:
Reid's reaction
Senator Majority leader Harry Reid was asked just now about whether the ongoing nomination fight is hurting the party.
"It makes me bitter," he said.

Lanny Davis gives an inch?
He publishes a response by an Obama supporter about Barack's participation in TUCC.
I posted these articles earlier, but I'll put them here again.
Here's a beautiful piece that weaves the Wright controversy, sports, and Obama's bitter comments together into a provocative portrait of Black heroes in America.
Obama could've put Hillary down like a sick dog had he created attack ads about Tuzla. Had he made mention of it everything he spoke in public. It would have kept that story alive for at least a weak.
But I understand why he didn't go negative. He did say that she would exaggerate her experience and do anything to win. He let the story damage her credibility all by itself.
He's not getting the same respect in return, nor did he expect to, I'm sure. But he's showing that he is a man of principle.
I'm hoping, however, that he slams her hard for it in the debate tomorrow night.
He still has a chance to clobber her without coming across as the angry aggressor or appearing to betray himself.
TruthSeeker
I'm kinda pissed off at Barack lately. Chris Matthews echoed my feelings earlier today when he said Barack had the Tuzla incident and his campaign didn't capitalize on it. I find he does these half-hearted attacks and backs off before landing a blow. All that hard work campaigning in PA gone to waste by Hillary dragging out one off-hand comment. He could have smashed her head in with Columbia and Tuzla ...but silence.
I read in a blog that he said that he'd been trying not to damage her during the primary..but I think he has an obligation to fight hard. All those people out canvassing and donating for a year ...he's got to fight too. He holds responsibility in this thing dragging out longer than necessary. If he doesn't knock her out when he gets an opening. But I think Barack has a stubborn streak.

Barack will be on "Real Sports" tonight on HBO @ 10pm ET.

Truthseeker-
I was laughing at that earlier. She probably has never even entered a kitchen.

I will try and catch that.

FYI: Michelle Obama will be on The Colbert Report tonight. Watched it for the first time yesterday - sorta funny.

At Huffington post Cindy's ripping off food network recipes as her own.
GQ blog has great interview with Gov. Richardson. He talks more about endorsing Obama and the backlash.

A supporter of Obama (a white man) went after the Clintons at a rally pretty much saying that someone needs to put the Clintons in there place. How nothing about Obama is elitist and he believes that its a racially tinged attack. I saw it on MSNBC. The supporter said that he wants someone "smart and educated as his president".
They better protect Hillary from us!! We are coming after her if Obama doesnt want too. I am sick of her and her suppoerters!!
RhondaCoca
America is defined by greed and self-interest not democracy...I think that we have confused the two.

Fox News is talking about Rev.Wright again because he attacked Fox News and said that Sean Hannity is "stuck on stupid".
Off course, they have stupid black people who always side with whites who still dont get it.
They never heard of the social gospel? Every church is different, how many times do we have to deal with this...My GOD. They only know the bible for superficial reasons, they dont know its relation to social injustice and even as a frightening prophetic revelation of America itself. This shallow stupidity is what our media and popular culture is based on and its a shame.
I co-sign Rev.Wright, Sean Hannity is stuck on stupid along with everyone in the media.
For all the anger at Bob Johnson, he does make one point: the Obama campaign and its supporters do kinda have him on a hair trigger when it comes to throwing the racist flag. Yes, it's dumb for people to play into it (see Mr. Davis yesterday), but I'm still not convinced that EVERY incident of slamming Obama had a racist tinge to it.
And-in a rare plug for my blog, my thoughts for Mr. Johnson's words are here.

I will continue to ask this...
PLEASE give me examples of Obama's White Female Supporters disrespecting Hillpatine in this way.
If not, then WHY do all the HHH go down this road?

"I was just about to post about HHH Johnson. This Sambo needs to just quit. And yes, Rhonda, Uncle Ruckus Johnson was in on that letter to Pelosi."
Please do..it is our duty to flesh out these idiots. Can you imagine Gates, Buffet, Bloomberg--out there like this?
If he needs an African American Billionaire role model, he should look to Oprah for guidance. The woman endorsed Obama and had not been heard from since.
What type of cred will she have, after she's allowed him to fend for himself against the Clintons--THEN come out strong in November?
rikyrah
natthedem,
I saw that yesterday and cheered on Maddow. I also can't believe that Obama gets more respect from someone like Michelle Bernard than Democrats they have on that show.

Bob Johnson is a fool. I mentioned that earlier. Please...he needs to get lost. He needs to stop injecting race.
"A friend told me that Johnson's assets are heavily mortgaged and the Clintons may have promised him his own 30 pieces of silver. Why else would a billionaire keep embarrassing himself like this?"
Exactly. Didn't he participate in a threatening letter to Nancy Pelosi.

dear jack and jill, maybe it is time for a media swiftboat obama wikipedia. since wisconsin. 1. plagiarism 2. michelle first time proud 3. farkhan endorsement 4. rev wright videos 5. typical white woman 6. bowling 7. beverage choice 8. bitter quote
the good news is he is almost ten up in the tracking polls despite this relentless smear campaign. olberman described him as a teflon politician last night. as i have written many times. obama will win. the country does not want to fail this test. swiftboating obama with racially tinged ammunition is a loser. the media is toying with it, but in the end they will back off.

I'd like to share this. In light of the recent charge of elitism thrown at Senator Obama, I'm concerned that we need the anchor of history to prevent us from losing our equilibrium. Obama's ascendancy is certainly a good thing for America. It would be the end of beginning to tear down the pillar of racism that our country was founded upon. Racism is a boil that must be lanced and the ugly truths, including black co-conspirators, must be extruded. But it would be an unforgivable error on our part to miss out on how class oppression is tied into this mess.
natthedem
Posted this on my blog, but wanted to also share it here...Rachel Maddow, once again, provides an insightful analysis on Obama's malign comments on "Race for the White House:" the video.
