Remember Alan Keyes ran against Obama for Senate because the GOP tried to pull a “we have a black guy too” minstrel.

They are also yet to discuss what she had to say about race in America. They are a bunch of idiots.

True, pamela. What I would expect though, is that having Rice as the VP nominee would turn into a “our negro is better’n your negro” debate. And as you said, the white guys at FOX and CNN would love to be the moderators of that.

If McCain needs an African American, Colin Powell is the only candidate that would drastically change the dynamics of this race. Otherwise, he needs to play it safe and name someone that will deliver a state, Crist (R-FLA) or a conservative that will unify his base without alienating independent voters.

I heard that story, but couldn’t find any verification it did happen. But, I don’t recall any outrage from her either. I do remember her speaking strongly and angrily in favour of Bush’s policies though.

And although she has done better as Secretary of State than she did as National Security Advisor, she is too tied to the Iraq mess. She would have to face a whole series of questions of discussions that went on behind closed doors.

If McCain is looking for a viable black running mate, look to J.C. Watts of Oklahoma. But he has been out of DC for a while.

But first the cable news anchors and pundits will fumble on how to spin this. I gave it 4 hours after the announcement of Rice as McCain’s running before the first person says “Condi isn’t considered Black by most Black voters so it will not help the Republican ticket” which will lead to discussions of what it means to be Black. I can’t wait to hear the Fox, CNN, MSNBC opinion on that topic. Sigh…

The politicians who triangulate and create new realities to manipulate the people – and the media who fill their 24 hour coverage by mocking us. They better be careful, as they test the patience of the people. One day they might find themselves being dragged before the firing squad as America descends into madness.

I do know though, that on the surface she would be the perfect antidote to nullify the black man President threat, what is softer and less threatening than a black woman VICE President? But, if McCain dies could Condoleeza be President? I think you either have the hunger or you don’t, and she has said repeatedly she has no interest. Why would people trust the abrupt about-face.

The ultraconservative base really isn’t ready to deal with supporting a viable black candidate (and “viable” exculdes Alan Keyes). It’s the same reason why I don’t think Michael Steele would fly.

I’d support it, if for no other reason than it might negate the race card a little. Or it could well bring out the democratic racists…..

And guess what? Then her life becomes an open book. Then she has to explain her penchant for old brothas at the club/retired black bad boys. Or white men. Or perhaps black women a la Effie Barry and Maureen Bunyun here in DC? No way she wants that, and no way even the douchebags at Fox or the bloggers will be able to provide her cover. Plus, McCain wants his on flunkie. Why pick her? Blacks won’t go for her. She has no regional tie. She will come as a the nerd sista we all know she is. hahaha
