Maybe we should start a McCain watch…let’s see how many days it will be till he vehemently repudiates the comments and disassociates from Hagee?

Let’s add the media into that watch and see how long it will take them to question why he’s not completely cutting off Hagee?

It was a political move.You know, the kind Obama’s just now learning to make. McCain sought the endorsement to shore himself up with conservative Christians.

And McCain made his statement after the endorsement was received, not after the media reported it.

@D: Barack’s speech clearly indicated that he did not agree with all Rev Wright’s views, yet the standard was equally clearly set at denunciation. Sen Obama has lately met that standard, McCain (during all this time) has not.

So the question is rather, does Sen McCain denounce and reject Pastor Hagee?

Okay, between the two back to back McCain posts, I get it: we're turning the spotlight off Obama/Wright. Fair enough; I'm down; let's go to war.

There's an important distinction between McCain's actions with Hagee and Obama's with Wright:

It took McCain 24 hours to repudiate Hagee's more controversial views. How many times over the past-what, 2-3 months?-since this story broke has Obama had the chance to do the same and not done it?

McCain saw a problem, and got out in front of it, instead of waiting for it to bite him in the ass. I'm sorry your candidate of choice didn't/couldn't do the same.

D, I'm sorry. Were you trying to say that the fact that McCain distanced himself from these comments was somehow relevant? I'm sorry you're living in a word where facts and information matter. But in THIS world, NONE OF THAT MATTERS.

See, I'm in the media now, so I'll be back tomorrow hounding McCain on whether he thinks it's the job of American foreign policy to bring on the Rapture.

Good luck with your facts. They didn't do a damn thing for Obama.

Mr. Straight Talk has a lot of explaining to do. A lot more at least. Maybe when he's denounced the comments 1,000 times, maybe then I should let up. Probably not though.

I'm starting to QUESTION HIS JUDGMENT AND ABILITY TO DEFEND THIS NATION'S BABIES FROM EVIL BROWN TERRORISTS.

In fact, I don't think McCain shares the values this great nation. I may ask him about that as well.

Statement By John McCain On Pastor Hagee Endorsement

ARLINGTON, VA -- U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today (2/29/08) released the following statement by John McCain on his endorsement by Pastor John Hagee:

"Yesterday, Pastor John Hagee endorsed my candidacy for president in San Antonio, Texas. However, in no way did I intend for his endorsement to suggest that I in turn agree with all of Pastor Hagee's views, which I obviously do not.

"I am hopeful that Catholics, Protestants and all people of faith who share my vision for the future of America will respond to our message of defending innocent life, traditional marriage, and compassion for the most vulnerable in our society."

And that, I think, is all that needs to be said.
