Obama just moves people. They can’t always articulate it and may not have a list of talking points to break it down. I think it’s just an instinct. Though the same argument could be made for the other candidates as well…but their behavior has been suspect.

I actually think this video works both ways.

It will strengthen the resolve of those who think you have to be "retarded" to support Obama, that you must only like him because he's Black, and that he's a threat because he's a Black Power separatist. (The fist.)

It's definitely an interesting video.

I can't say I know for sure the agenda of the person who did the interview and posted it on YouTube

If you listen to the tone of voice of the interviewer, it's not difficult to ascertain he's a Clinton supporter.

Also, I like how he unintentionally (? or maybe intentionally after all, and it's just a barrier at work between him and me) brought things around with the hand gestures. When asked why he likes Obama, he clenched his fist, and said he liked that. Then around the 2:30 point he's asked about being proud to be an American --

and he clenches his fist, and says 'freedom', clenches it again and says 'let freedom ring'.

THAT'S deep.

Then he mentions Dr. King.

Obama is like Elvis! Hehe (and I don’t know who the interviewer was trying to lead him into saying who else has a deep voice).

I don’t know what he means about he doesn’t like Hillary because she’s white (and actually, that worries me); and why he keeps talking about how hot Michelle is (that doesn’t; it’s cute — she is hot). His reasons are no more better or worse than the majority of Americans who aren’t following this very closely, and who’ll say things like “I’m voting for this person because they’re a woman/a man/white/black/Republican/Democrat”. That’s worrisome to me — for the rest of America.

This just makes the DMX interview that much worse, though. Down’s Syndrome doesn’t mean you aren’t aware of what’s happening around you. He reminds me of an 8 year old (I hope that doesn’t offend people). He was born that way. DMX was not, and yet DMX says ‘fuck it’.

Why is this young man who was given a hell of a heavier load than DMX excited and wanting to be involved — and DMX doesn’t?

This is very sweet. He's inspiring to those of us with young friends or family with Down's Syndrome.

I like that he identifies with the black community as positive, possibly in part because discrimination against people with serious disabilities is also very common. Surely he can relate to Dr. King's dreams for America.
