Ms Martin - I agree. When I heard the Pope speaking much of his speech was similar to the one Barack has been giving. I thought the same thing - Catholics have no choice but to se the similarities and having the Pope repeat pretty much the same verbage will help with Barack's campaign.

Pat Buchanan is on MSNBC's coverage of the Papal vist trying to associate a connection between the Catholic voter's and Hillary Clinton as it relates to the Pope's message.


I don't recall Hillary having said anything about hope - in fact she laughs at hope.



I don't recall Hillary saying anything about racial equality - she's counting on the hatred of those who are against it.



Hillary's message is experience and ridicule - that it's.



He said that Catholics couldn't relate to Obama because of the protestant style that Obama mimics; that of the King style.



I say Pat and CNN are trying to spin it because the Pope's message is so similiar to Obama's.

I think the release of the attack on MoveOn.org was meant for the audience of the Superdelegates. Frantic though they may be, they show up with BODIES AND MONEY AND LOTS OF BOTH OF THEM. A modern Democrat can't get elected without their dedication, and now, they know, Moveon won't do shit for Hillpatine.

Saw him tonight on C-Span in Harrisburg. I think he was rejuventated by that crowd in Philly last night. He had the spring back in his step. And, whatever else you want to say about Senator Casey, he has totally stepped up to the bat for Obama.

I know it's not your imagination, I just really don't believe it's going that far.



There were two events of late that had to affirm Obama's support to the Supers; 1. the protests of ABC and 2. the crowds at those rallies in PA.



There is a school of thought that says the Supers don't really care about the portion of the Democratic party that supports Obama and that what they really care about is the candidate who can win the general.



I believe that the numbers in PA and Indiana will determine which way they move.

and by the way...how many times do you have to read in the paper that Hillary herself said she wants this to be a fight in Denver????


I've heard her say it, it isn't my imagination!

It may not get to Denver, but, I think if the DNC and the super dels are aware that we are organizing to demonstrate in Denver, they will take our support for Obama much more seriously.


This is a once in a life time opportunity we cannot let escape us.

I agree that we need to fight, but I think there's a more urgent fight with the media that needs to take place prior to May 6.


I don't think that it will go to Denver. I believe the Superdelegates will step in on May 6.



While I angered by the recycling of old bs, I don't believe it will work.

dear jack and jill, my suggestion for all obamaholics is to stay away from the boob tube this weekend. the media declared their intentions for pa. on weds with the abc debate. activate but lets not torture ourselves watching the propaganda. we know what they are doing and it sucks but watching it gives it more consideration than it deserves.

They want to invoke feelings of those rural ethnic voters who they think will vote race. So once again, they are putting the black voter out their to raise emotions in folks who they think will vote against Obama.

Wow I was moved to tears just reading this. Since Obama's been on the scene, I seem to cry alot. I know there's only so much he can do and I don't agree with him on everything but for the first time in years...dare I be cliche...I have hope.

PS: The image most burnt in my mind from last night that did not make it to the memory card of my camera is this one.



Walking up Market Street toward the 30th Street train station in the midst of the impromptu Obama parade that marched along chanting OBAMA and YES WE CAN a black Nisan Mirano (I think not entirely sure of make) passed. They were turning off market onto 11th I believe. In the passenger seat was an elderly black woman in her 80s. A young man was driving who I presumed to be her son, as his hand stretch across and rested on her shoulder. Our eyes locked for second and I noticed her tears of joy. I can’t imagine what it’s like for an old black woman who’s probably seen her share of bigotry and struggle against racism and intolerance. To watch as almost 40,000 blacks, whites, Asians, Hispanics, and just about every other race and creed paraded by chanting the name of a black man.. A black man for president.

Had my camera been out, I would not have had the gall to shove it against her window and capture that look of joy, to interfere with that moment... but I wish you could have seen it.





I've written before that I believe, whatever disappointments I have with Obama, that my vote for him ultimately is for:

a) my mother, born in Jim Crow Mississippi

b) my great-niece,not a month old

The one that got to me the most was #11 -- when I heard about the rally and saw a few pictures last night, I unconsciously filled in a detail that wasn't there: I pictured him up an elevated stage at the front.

And see how he is basically surrounded by all those beautiful people. And in the first one I linked, I can see how he is standing on this teeny tiny little barely raised platform .... yeah I see the Secret Service suits and all (glad they're there), but this physically embodied trust and lack of distance moves me.

I have to take a chill pill or something because this is so stressful. I swear, she's going to pull something.



Oh, heh. She's also having a rally here today and uh, almost a HUNDRED people showed up for tickets.... I would laugh harder but too scared about jinxing.

This gave me chills! I heard people marched on the street chanting "Obama" and "Yes we can". Amazing!


No more freakin' debates, Obama needs to talk directly to the people.

Going pretty well in the rural area of PA just up the road from Hagerstown. It'll be closer than expected in Franklin County. I'll write more about it later. Don't get your hopes up--Obama will lose the state, but it's not going to be a disaster. I think it'll be a near dead heat.

I'm going to tell you, looking at pics and video, I realize why I support Obama as a candidate. WHO ELSE is bringing crowds like that together?
