I strongly feel there is this projection taking place in the relationship between Hillary and the public - especially the female public. She is thought of as the typical feminist-minded woman. Of course she has self esteem and an innate independence....but is that really true? Are we projecting rather than seeing what is? Is "what is" so chilling and unacceptable that we refuse to believe it when it makes itself apparent?
What I see is an extremely emotionally fragile woman. This woman is propped up by fantasy and the power structure that surrounds her(Bill). She has created an internal fantasy world based on that framework of political power. The illusion is so seamless that only occasionally does a glimpse of madness seep through. The framework is also supported by our projected beliefs. We see her furiously defend a philandering husband and we dismiss it. We see her harass the women who accuse her husband and we dismiss that. We see her remove documents, stonewall and outright lie and we make excuses. Hillary followed Bill because she couldn't emotionally survive without him, he is her ticket to survival and power. She blurs the boundaries between herself and Bill because she doesn't believe she can attain success without him. The public illusion is a woman in control, but I see that she talks too much. I see the anxiety, the disheveled hair, the crumpled suit...the wild panic in the eyes. The fleeting look of distress as her eyes search the audience looking for anchor. I see the muscles on the side of her mouth constantly flexed. I see the slight rocking back and forth when asked a tough question in interview and debate. I see the expression of rage and hate a split second long, that if you blink you'd miss it. I hear the laughter at inappropriate moments that my brain says doesn't compute. I hear the little catch in her voice as she says "well.." just before she's about to lie. I sense the web of madness.
We put the madwoman behind the wheel because she wears a power suit, and only as the car careens over the cliff does it dawn on us that we've made a mistake and it's too late..

Truthseeker, that's an interesting way of looking at it. But I believe Hillary failed because she failed. Hillary passed because she passed. I don't believe she failed because she wanted to be near Bill. With the type of person Bill is, and she is -- why wouldn't she want to prove to Bill that she's his equal? why let him down and let herself down by proving that she's 'stupider' than him, and that she needs his help in order to succeed? Because failing in DC but succeeding in Arkansas is definitely on that 'I need your help to succeed, you're better than me' tip.
They hate each other and love each other. They should have never gotten married.
What's the deal with Hillary and Web Hubbell's relationship, off topic?

@Truthseeker, it's not hard to undermine Sherri Sheppard.
As for Whoopi having low self-esteem -- yes, she does. Blue contacts is not 'just a fashion statement' in the black community.
I wish someone would do an analysis of why she was the one to insist that Ted Danson do that blackface routine. Maybe Ted really did love her, maybe not; what game was Whoopi playing with him?
I heard about her facial expressions. One freeper came to her defense (?!) by claiming she probably had a gas attack (?!!). Yeah. Aren't all black women gassy? especially when shaking one's head 'no' to someone telling a man he's handsome? But anyway, I don't think Whoopi likes black men. Black men have certainly never shown love to Whoopi, though. So I guess it evens out.
Whoopi will probably fall in love fiercely with Obama once she's around him more, in a matter of speaking. I just get that feeling from her, that she's on a serious 'you have to prove yourself to me' kick. Ditto for Anderson Cooper. Her (their) prior experiences and fears (of rejection? of bullshit artists past? of what?) are coming out. But I don't know.
Do you find it odd that Hillary failed the bar in Washington but passed in Arkansas...where Bill was? I wonder if she failed on purpose..a subconscious desire, need to be near Bill because she feels she's nothing without him. There's a strange expression that crosses her face just prior to a speech..a microexpression, fleeting...if I was guessing I'd say she's in one of her fantasies, imagining she's a great leader about to give an address before her adoring subjects.

As a performance artist, I continue to admire the utter brilliance of the work she displayed in her seminal performance piece back in the 90s. It informed much my approach to writing/performance. It took a while for me to see Whoopi beyond that. In fact, I still don't. But I'm beginning to.

Now we all know Whoopi Goldberg hasn't had a black thought in years, and, certainly would never entertain one about a black man on any level, so her showing disdain bordering on hatred of Obama is Whoopi just being Whoopi! She is actually pretty sad on so many levels when you think about it, maybeshe should just change her name to Miss Celie.
After 9-11, Hillary had a problem. New Yorkers were desperately focused on their own needs for protection and they were saddled with a Senator who was not one of them — an Arkansan or was it a Chicagoan?
Interviewed on the Today Show one week after 9-11, she spun an elaborate yarn. The kindest thing we could say was that it was a fantasy. Or a fabrication.
She said that Chelsea was jogging around the World Trade Center on 9-11 and happened to duck into a coffee shop when the airplanes hit. She said that this move saved Chelsea’s life. But Chelsea told Talk Magazine that she was in a friend’s apartment four miles from ground zero when the first plane hit. Her friend called her, waking her up, and told her to turn on the TV. On television, she saw the second plane hit, disproving Hillary’s claim that “she heard the plane hit. She heard it. She did.”
So why did Hillary make up the story about Chelsea? Most likely to was because her co-Senator (and implicit rival for the voter’s affection), a real New Yorker Chuck Schumer spoke of his daughter, who attended Stuyvesant High School (Dick’s alma mater) located next to the Trade Center, being at real risk on 9-11. Hillary needed to make herself part of the scene.
She invented the entire story on national television, the Today Show, and didn’t blink an eye.
Her fabrication on the Today Show was no unique foray. It is her standard M.O. It gives us pause in evaluating all of her stories and calls into question her entire credibility.

Yeah....she didn't even ask any pertinent questions. It was funny when Barack asked Elizabeth the imagine someone taking the 5 dumbest things she'd ever said in her whole life and played them on an endless loop....(paraphrasing)..ha!
I've never really been fond of Whoopi. It's a case where someone who's managed to attain success and we think they have some special access to wisdom. Her open admiration for all things "non-black", I find odd because of it's intensity. I don't think she's wise or a role model which is borne out by her dogged support of Clinton. Actually, my gut tells me she has extremely low self-esteem. She almost always looks sloppy and untidy, won't wear a goddamned bra...undermines Sherri Sheppard on the show.....most of the time she just pisses me off.

Whoopi Goldberg, who recently endorsed Hillary Rodham Nixon, is looking at Barack Obama on "The View" with a sneer of disdain. And she's not even trying to hide it.
