I think that people forget the context of how the black churches have evolved. When I was in undergrad, I had a professor talk about the black churches and how they really were the only outlet for blacks in the times of slavery and segregation. The mainstream media has neglected this history, and I don’t expect that they will visit the context of Rev. Wright’s comments beyond the youtubes.

When politicians demand that we change the Constitution, that is effectively saying that they are not going to do a thing. The Constitution is tough to amend, which is why it’s been done so infrequently in its 200+ years. Saying “Let’s change the Constitution” is an effective way to drum up donations and votes, but not much else. Which is why Huckabee’s more outlandish statements never struck me as anything more than some red meat for his most devoted followers. I still like the guy, even though he did not get my vote in the IL primary.

And, the one thing that bugs me moe than anything else, is the “preservation” of life, when there are hundreds of thousands of children languishing in poverty and foster homes, that none of the pro-life people seem to care about, or are willing to spend a penny in taxes to help.

Though I agree with preserving the definition of marriage, I disagree with amending The Constitution to do so. The federal government has no business defining marriage, and if they have the power to do it now, they will have the power to revise it, later.

If you are talking about the “raising The Constitution to God’s standards” comment, remember that he was talking to Christian believers.

And, I love how he put Joe right in his place and all those other who dismiss any black person who has a gripe about racism is wrong.And, who are the other two churls on Fox Noise?

I wish someone could mix these two videos.

Wright speaks from the bible about retaliation and innocent lives lost, about a kind of terrorism in retaliation that hurts everyday innocent people (such as those who died on 9/11 and the Iraq civilians), he was referred to an Ambassador who described that America would fall victim to retaliation.

The soldier in the video speaks to the way innocent people were hurt in this war and how American military personnel was racist and hurtful to the people.

It’s amazing the subtle effect Obama is having on the media. As I type this, Cafferty is telling the rest of the panel he’s tired of them talking about Florida and Michigan. The others are insisting Florida and Michigan MUST be included. Jack essentially says no they don’t and lets move on…LOL

As for Huckabee, he’s scared Americans will start poking around into what’s said in churches on Sunday mornings…and start raising questions about tax exemption…If they only knew! Preachers better stick together.

I just got home and checked this out on Huffington Post. I can’t believe it. I hope it’s not some ploy. But if it isn’t, I gotta give props where props is due.

Dude walked off the stage. And then you have Wallace defending Obama.

I said it before and I’ll say it again. Obama’s speech has long-term implications for this campaign. He’s gonna survive this story. Yeah, he’s dropped in the polls. But he didn’t tank. He’s a viable frontrunner who’s gotta get back on message. He’ll be just fine.

But Obama’s speech did something important:

It’s begun to marginalize the haters. John McCain, Chris Wallace, Mike Huckabee, the 700 Club, throw in another FOX NEWS anchor . . . it all shows how STUPID this Jeremiah Wright stuff is.

I’ll say it again. Obama didn’t speak to Democrats or Republicans; liberals or conservatives . . . he spoke to our better angels. We’ve all got them – INCLUDING some people at Fox News.
