I don't know about the media seeing the writing on the wall. In fact, they want to ignore it until the very end. It's in their best interest to keep Klinton's (false) hopes alive.

What we need to prepare for is the possibility of a significant defeat in Pennsylvania. Barack might do well in Philly, and he might make a dent in Pittsburgh. But that's about the extent of it. The media has given itself the excuse to pander to those so-called "working-class whites" in middle Pennsylvania with whom Barack has "a problem", they say.

They're saying that he's got a "real problem" with these white folks as if he's done something to cause the problem. Now, the WGM won't come right out and say that these "working-class whites" don't like Obama because they don't particularly care for Black politicians, but they do regularly stop just short of saying so. And in my view, the WGM's failure to give such bigotry the light-of-day exposure it deserves, only provides justification and safe cover for it.

That said, I agree with justice58; start banging the phones and e-mail addresses of corporate sponsors of the media outlets who continue to fan the flames of white bigotry.

Equally as intriguing...

Tough call [Mark Steyn]

Richard Landes has some thoughts on Obama, Wright and the prophetic tradition, in the course of which he recounts the following:

Although Reverend Wright has no problem attributing paranoia and stupidity to the “group of patriots in power”, he does not seem to have much awareness of the power of paranoid thinking on his own ministry, and the terrible consequences of taking refuge in this thinking. And this is, indeed, a pervasive problem in the Black community.

I had my first glimpse of this problem in 2000, when, as the head of the Center for Millennial Studies, I sat on a panel with three rappers and a black academic colleague, discussing the apocalyptic themes in Hip-hop. The AIDS conspiracy came up repeatedly. Finally, a member of the audience asked, “How many on the panel believe these AIDS conspiracies?” The three rap artists all said they did. I said I did not. The African American professor said:

I don’t want to answer that, because if I say I do, I’ll lose credibility with my colleagues, and if I say I don’t, I’ll lose credibility with the brothers.

The implications of this reluctance to speak replicate closely the dilemma of Barack Obama...

Yes, but it's a dilemma that is wholly alien to the overwhelming majority of American voters. Liberals love to play these games with social conservatives, asking Republican candidates whether they think the Book of Genesis is the literal truth, or they believe in the Rapture. But there's wiggle room in stuff that hasn't yet happened or was all a long time ago. When you're questioned about whether the US government cooked up Aids in a laboratory in the late Seventies to kill black people, you're being asked whether you accept the objective reality of the world we live in. That's not a good thing to make a "dilemma" of.

The Reverend Wright is, to modify Cole Porter, not "dilemma" but "da limit" - a point beyond which Americans will willingly accompany Obama. So the simple fact that an absurd proposition for most people is a painful dilemma for the Senator has the effect of distancing him from those whose votes he needs.

http://www.theaugeanstables.com/2008/03/23/the-prophetic-stream-conspiracy-theory-and-paranoia-whats-wrong-with-african-american-preaching/

This is one of the most imporrtant presidential races of my lifetime, if not the most important.

The boxing analogy is lacking. This race is neither sport nor spectacle. It's too bad, then, that the boxing analogy is also on point.

Glenn Close... I mean Hillary Rodham Nixon is sitting in a white-walled room on white sheets in a white gown staring into space and turning a bedside lamp on and off with a switch on a white chord, plotting, plotting, plotting...

As for the person who wrote about judgment and experience. That is the central issue for all three candidates, not just Obama. Rodhman Nixon and McCain have also shown their judgment to be questionable, as well as the experience each claims to have. If we weren't so focused on the Democratic fight, McCain would be skewered for his ignorance about which religious sects in Iraq and Iran are which. Absolutely skewered.

This is a heavyweight fight that is going to go all 15(?) rounds. The ref(s) are not going to stop this yet because no one has yet to deliver a 'knock-out punch.'

This fight will go to the judges and it will be a 'split decision.'

rikyrah,

Seriously, I get so mad I could spit and we all know how rude that is, when I think on how low certain so-called journalists have gone during this campaign. People have lost all sense of common decency!

I know there are times that I let fly with stuff that I am embarrassed about but I'm not getting paid a living to be UGLY like these people.

I told someone the other day, this is has turned to shitsoup and people just keep throwing more turds in. They must loooove the smell but I am beyond disgusted. I hold the Clintons as being primarily responsible and as far as I'm concerned they are both the source of the original stench.

Phew. Okay. Now. You know how Bill says that Hillary could have taken more lucrative jobs out of law school but that she chose to help children, the poor, etc.? I got so mad, again, because yet another LIE. She couldn't because she failed the bar in D.C. I remembered the tizzy when the Bernstein book came out.

http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/ny-uswate0302,0,812023,print.story

That right there is one interesting little article. She HAD to go to Arkansas to be with her boyfriend cuz even though she loved the whole Watergate gig ..... hello, failed the bar.

Now we all know that Obama can't and shouldn't touch this with a ten foot pole but ... yes, I want this added to her endless "list".

CNN is now reporting that the chief of firm involved in breach is an Obama adviser.

I'm sure there is more to this story, but MSM is going to run with it. However, the CEO of the company is a Clinton supporter.

We won't really know what happened until the investigation is done.

This is such a soap opera!

I have read so many articles but the one that stuck with me is the person who likened Hillary to nutcase in Fatal Attraction.....she just never goes away and then self destructs. Wow, I wonder if Hillary wants that to be her legacy.

She won't go easy, like a weed in the lawn, and, after all its not about the party unity, the country, or the GOP keeping the WH, its all about Bill and Hillary Clinton, nothing else matters, never has, never will. Too bad neither of them gets it, the country is sick of the Bush-Clinton regimes of business as usual.
