Derrick would be an amazing addition to Obama's staff. He should also run for office himself one day soon!!!

Speak the truth! I have always felt that Obama's candidacy was as much a spiritual quest as a political one. He's far from perfect, but so are we! He has conducted himself in a manner that is above reproach. I also think the woman he attracted to himself and shares his life with is indicative of his character. He tells us it will be hard work but he really believes in us and this country. He's has always seemed purpose-driven as opposed to ego-driven.

This is our cross-roads. We will succeed...or fail together.

P.S. Why is Michael Baisden who I happen to like telling white people to tell black people to shut up anytime they bring up race as a barrier?? I agree with him about black self-empowerment and the need for blacks to help eaach other cause I do that on a regular basis but I feel that he is being over the top by quote on quote telling white people to but black people in their place. I dont know but thats just me.

I must say in reference to Anon, man, there are a lot of white people bombarding black blogs and websites ready to argue. Every blog I have gone on have had whites telling us to explain to them our situation however its like they dont come nicely or open-minded about it. They act arrogant and nasty. Now Anon 1:18, if you would ask us what you would like us to explain to you then I would take it upon myself to answer all of your questions.

I thought FOR SURE that the Clintons wouldn’t be so damn stupid as to publicly pile on the Wright controversy because they themselves have black pastors supporting them who have probably said the same type of things.

But here we go…Lanny Davis (Clinton supporter & frequent mouthpiece on the cable shows) has 2 questions for Obama: 1. If a white minister preached sermons to his congregation and had used the “N” word and used rhetoric and words similar to members of the KKK, would you support a Democratic presidential candidate who decided to continue to be a member of that congregation?

2. Would you support that candidate if, after knowing of or hearing those sermons, he or she still appointed that minister to serve on his or her “Religious Advisory Committee” of his or her presidential campaign?

I hope the pundit class looks around and says…”hey, we should get some of these bright, thoughtful black men some time on tv…just to change things up a bit!”

They won’t do that, of course. But if Obama can give that speech, anything is possible, right?

I am convinced that there will be a black President in my lifetime. It may happen this year--I think it will happen this year. But if it doesn't, it will happen in part because of that speech, in part because of Jesse Jackson (who is getting an unfair rap), in part because of King and the people he led, in part because of African American blood shed in Korea, World War II and World War I, and in part because of the blood--black and white--shed in the Civil War. Like 8 miles from my house at a place called Antietam. There lay people who gave the last full measure to this country. Those graves, which are weathered and no longer have flags and flowers placed by the now happened to allow this.

And Obama's speech was an act of leadership. It's about time we had that. It was, a "this may end my political career, but it's the right thing to do so I'm going to do it," moment. He did the same when he opposed the war.

I know that when an African American rises to the Presidency this will be part of the reason as to why. It should be Obama; I hope it is Obama.

The media doesn't think so. They're ratings driven Jihad says this doesn't matter. But Luke 6:25 says, "Woe to you who is well fed, for you shall know hunger. Woe to you who laughs now, for you shall mourn and weep." This is the verse that started this. Nobody in the media bothered to read it. I think God's playing a joke on them. And I believe that this verse will ring more true than we know in November...

And yes, America is being tested, and the failure won't be if Obama loses the general, but what happens between now and the general.

Either America becomes as great as her promises or the citzens still wanting to embrace any types of isms or phobias will see to it that she fails. Period.
