(CNN) – Bill Richardson criticized a Clinton campaign adviser Friday for suggesting his endorsement of Barack Obama is insignificant.

“I resent the fact that the Clinton people are now saying that my endorsement is too late because I only can help with Texans — with Texas and Hispanics, implying that that’s my only value,” the New Mexico governor told CNN’s John King.

“That’s typical of some of his advisers that kind of turned me off.”Earlier Friday, Clinton campaign senior strategist Mark Penn said he thought Richardson’s endorsement came too late to make an impact.

There are other progressives out there to be tapped, but a winning ticket/team is going to be critical to make the Obama presidency a reality. So on a positive note–let the search begin!!

I can feel you on the Bloomberg as Treasury Secy.

In fact, anyone who can afford to forgo a salary – as he has done as Mayor – should get extra serious consideration to serve as AG or Secys of Treasury, Defense, and State.

While no one is perfect, I truly truly think there’s something to be said for civil servants who HAVE money and, most importantly, are USED TO having money.

Well, team Clinton has taken to lashing out against Bill Richardson since this endorsement hit. I blogged about it on my site. Feel free to cross post it, if you want. I think it would be great if we could get some black-brown cooperation in blogsphere.

While I like Richardson, he didn’t do a good job of gaining votes. Obama needs a VP who will bring him votes. I do think that Secretary of State Richardson has a nice ring to it, no?

On the fashion tip, the beard definitely makes him look more ethnic, but I have always thought that Bill Richardson had nice coloring.

Ok, so it’s out there. But, think about it. Obama would drive up the Black get-out-the-vote in the South. Richardson would drive up the Latino get-out-the-vote in the Southwest. With the Black and Latino vote, possibly Texas could be in play.

Now, the Webb thing intrigues me, cause I admit it. I want the picture.

With Webb being the ONLY White person in the picture. It would crack me up to no end, but I dunno if America could take it.

I’d be honest with you, if I thought he’d take a paycut and leave his millions, I totally wish Obama would appoint John Rogers, Jr. as Secretary of the Treasury. Or Mellody Hobson – though I think some folks’ heads would explode.

John Edwards needs to step up to the plate for NC and WV…if he doesn’t endorse for them, what good would he be?

Now, I hope that Richardson will go out and actively campaign for Obama in the remaining states and in the fall.

I believe that there can be successful black-brown coalitions!

We then become the special interest group that demands something for our money: fair and accurate reporting.

The Wright coverage has been unfair, irresponsible and just ludicrous. It is not meant to inform, rather to ignite and persuade. That is unacceptable and we “the grass roots movement” can stop it.

We need to start investigating the sponsors, contact them regarding our outrage of the obvious irresponsible reporting and let them know we won’t support them if they support media outlets who bring us the news through as narrow a lens as they have and then make good on those promises.

I would like to see a special program devoted to what’s going on in churches all over America. I would like to see Reverend Wright’s 30 years profiled.

We need to tell Roland Martin, he will certainly let them know.

This is exactly how you stop the media. The reporting directive will certainly change when a company’s bottom line is effected (especially in this economy) and when the media has no more advertisers to support their politically biased coverage.

With all the spending power that blacks have, I suggest we get started.

If consumers start talking the talk about not supporting companies who advertise with these vultures, it will get around and things will change!

And this has GOT to stop. Now, I know that the best way to change Washington is to vote out the bad, and vote in the good. But if we the people don’t significantly change media, then change in Washington won’t happen. I don’t know the conventional wisdom of changing from a grassroots level, but there have to be ways.

Having folks in strategic places who are, at least, not anti-Barack is good. But media reform goes way beyond Barack. A change is needed behind the scenes at editors’ desks; in program director offices; and in the corner offices. Corporate sponsors need significant pressure to advertise with responsible and diversely managed media outlets.

Again, I have no idea what I’m talking about, but I do know that media reform MUST accompany political reform.

I went to Oprah’s site and her message board is filled with Anti-Obama and Anti-Wright messages.

All I can do it laugh!

I would rather wait until Barack has the nomination sealed, but in light of the FL/MI do-over failures and Richardson’s endorsement today, I’ll say the following:

I sense that many people here fear that HRC would “outshine” or “undercut” Barack if she were the VP. Yes, Billary is a political gangster…no doubt…but the Clintons are not “once-in-a-lifetime” leaders.

As Richardson put it, Barack Obama is a “Once in a Lifetime” Leader that can heal and bind a party, a country, and a world. I GENUINELY BELIEVE THAT…it is a messianic vision greater than any political gangster roaming our landscape…it’s greater than race baiting, partisanship, or religious intolerance. I AM FULLY INVESTED.

For those who want to punish the Clintons, I’ll only encourage you to come closer to Christ on this Easter weekend and embrace redemption…acknowledge the transformative power of redeeming yourself.

If you think that Obama doesn’t have the political fortitude to “handle” the Clintons, then you’re really discounting his abilities. You are “sleeping on a brother” if you believe that. For those that don’t realize it BY NOW, Barack Obama’s GOT Skillz…you’d better appreciate that.

Moreoever, she and her surrogates are the prime suspects behind all the racializing of Barack and his campaign. She has no business being a national leader after all of this.

Boycott MSNBC except for Olberman. Scar, Buchanan, and Carlson are getting face time to appeal to the Faux News Bigots.

CNN is asking has Barack Obama put the Rev. Wright controversy behind him. The question should have been is the media going to allow Obama to put the Wright controversey behind him. Boycott CNN except for Roland Martin.

Probably the most remarkable aspect of the recent feeding frenzy about Barack Obama’s so-called “pastor problem” — besides the agility and smarts that Obama has displayed in handling it — is not as much what it reveals about the state of race in America as what it reveals about the state of the American media.

The Washington Post’s report on Obama’s speech observed that this was a controversy that “threatens to engulf his presidential candidacy.” Yet as far as anyone can tell, it was having only a marginal effect on the polls in the race before it blew up on the networks, and it was not generated by either of Obama’s political opponents, or by any particular interest groups.

No, this is a controversy cooked up almost entirely within the media realm. Once they sank their fangs into it, the whole zombielike corps of pundits, cable talking heads, and radio talk-show hosts couldn’t let go of it. And equally remarkable was the bias that was on display in discussing it: News anchors and talking heads flatly referred to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s videotaped remarks as “anti-American,” “hate-filled,” “vicious,” “offensive,” and so on and on.

Likewise with Professor Charles Ogletree. Another striking example of someone generally regarded as sharp, competent, and dedicated to using the law for the benefit of others.

DOJ would be lucky to have him.
