You should have been visiting places like daily kos and democratic underground (or maybe you have) for the past 2 years, that’s ALL a very vocal section would talk about: vegeance, payback, scorched earth, destroying republicans. They didn’t want to make America better, they just wanted to put people with a D after their name into office to get back at Republicans. And they got upset when those Ds didn’t engage in the scorched earth tactics they projected upon them.

They hated Obama because they thought he was *weak* for being a listener; they talked up Edwards because they thought he was going to commit political Ragnorak on Republicans. They didn’t want to hear about why Edwards would be allowed to be ‘angrier’ than Obama in the first place. Any talk of reaching across aisles was met with derision. Any talk of making ‘big tent’ a reality was met with boos.

As for what’s going down in New Mexico, Bill Richardson being a Clinton ghoul is what’s going down in New Mexico. There was no reason for this b.s. I’m hearing about, about not anticipating the number of people interested in this primary, and for unofficial ballots to be passed out. After New Hampshire and Nevada, whenever I hear about more ballots needing to be picked up, I get weary. And now, New Mexico.

As for white people being such a large number in New Mexico — I live here. I don’t know how that works. Race is a state of mind, not genetics. There’s Spanish white and there’s Anglo white (along with Indian white). There’s the curiosity of blacks being seen as Anglo, even if they aren’t white. How do Spanish whites fit in the rest of the country’s racial categorizations, I’ve always wondered?

No matter what happens, I believe Obama and Clinton are going to split the delegates in New Mexico. I also believe Richardson is not going to be either Obama *or* Clinton’s vice presidential choice. I have no reason for feeling that way, just gut. Richardson is a water carrier with an impressive resume, but he is after all is said and done just a water carrier. Maybe he would get off on being the third wheel to a Clinton co-presidency, since word on the street is that Bill is not going to be a real ‘First Laddie’ and whomever is vice president will just be window dressing. I just can’t see Richardson being rewarded for his service with the vice presidency with it being this close. Ms. ‘My Turn’ is going to go for the safe choice. ‘My turn’ only applies to her.

The White vote in NM accounts for nearly 60%. How the hell is this possible for the votes to be this close or him losing slightly? It makes no sense!

Well, when folks are taking BALLOT BOXES HOME WITH THEM… It suddenly makes sense, doesn’t it?

Idaho: O won by 62% (an incredible % to say the least) with Clinton winning only one county; they have not split the delegates yet but obviously he will get the lions share.

Utah: O won by 17% (a solid win but by no means incredible) with Clinton winning 7 counties and o wining 14 delegates to her 9

Now why are these numbers interesting even though they clearly favor him on both counts?

Idaho and Utah are considered identical in make-up and voting history so why then the difference in the margins of victory? Idaho is a caucus state and Utah is not and we do not have a caucus system in the general election; everyone goes behind the curtain and pulls the lever in privacy and if you look at the map where he has won and where he is predicted to win; its either states where the voting is by caucus (Iowa, CO, Idaho, Minn, Alaska, Kansas, Montana, N. Dakota, and Wyoming ) or with a majority (or close to it) of the voters are black (SC, GA, ALA, Missouri, Del) (and if bubba didn’t push that hard, she would be ahead right now) and that does not bode well for O in a general election. Bubba’s pushing him into being the “black” candidate may not of help Hillary as much as he calculated because a lot of the white male vote he was hoping for are more sexist then racist and many hate bubba and her in their own right and so went to O in the primary but may very well not vote for him in the general

She won Tenn., Oak, Arizona, ark (I know, I know) all states with primaries and not that different then his caucus win states from a board national historical vote prospective.

I know CT doesn’t fit into this but Ned Lamont who beat Lieberman (!!!!) in the dem primary came out big for O and got his whole anti-war and move-on.org network out there for o and he still only won by under 15K votes

So she will have a rough next two week with only caucuses and majority black electorates coming into play; but she will hold her own in Wisconsin despite it being so liberal and she will run the board in Texas, Ohio (on 3/4) and pa (on 4/5) and I think we all know how important Ohio and PA are and you throw in her over 1MM votes she got in FLA (which we also know is a key state) which was more then McCain got and she didn’t campaign there and at a time the love fest with O was in full bloom and she has the states that we need not only to win the presidency but to expand our majority in Congress.

If this one fact O an his supports are truley showing thier lack of experience.

And he does not have 40% of the latino vote and and they will vote white over black becuase they do not see them selevs as minorities or black but rather white of European origin and they know Hillary’s record and Bills on the the issues and thus didn;t bail on her when she said no to drivers licneses out of the gate like O did in pandering to them and further under cutting the excomnoic security of the black working men and women.

it already is evident that this is a race too close to call. that race will drag on a few more weeks, but already the warnings are out that the democrats cannot allow a split convention.

it is no longer about obama or clinton, it is already about obama AND clinton, or rather clinton and obama, which some poor misguided ones, and others, not poor, but themselves misguiding, misguiding us, have called the “dream ticket”.

the only question that remains open is who would run, and who’d be the “mate”. isn’t it sensible to suppose that, in the end, the party apparatchiks will insist on clinton as candidate? “let’s be cavaliers”, “he’s still young, he can wait”, “she’s got the experience”… those are some of the nicer reasons i can imagine will be found to explain that decision.

obama for vice-president. or rather: vice-vice-president. there will be no way of getting around the former incumbent, william jefferson clinton -born william jefferson blythe III.

you elect one clinton, you get them both. much more politics is done in the bedroom then we want to recognise. and that said: it would actually make not much difference if hillary were to be only the vice. there would always be billary, obama would always have to handle them both, and it would be far from a comfortable presidency for the new president. it would be an impossible presidency. three kings are two too many.

true is: it is the time for obama! but also true is: time passes.

there might never again be such a moment like this, and certainly there will not be one like this for obama. for the change he represents. for the people that vote for and put their hopes in him. because after four, and then four more years, of clinton dynasty, this moment in time will have passed, and passed long ago.

so forget obama. you won’t get the obama you are now voting for. you’ll get a clinton anyways.

for we are up against people so cunning -and at the same time so rotten- that even winning is not winning anymore.

there is one great if written all over which i just said. or rather, it is an “if not”.

obama is about to be sidelined and, ultimately, silenced, IF NOT he makes such a bold move that it would shake the whole country, one that would make all of those shakespearian kings look like pale apprentices.

IF NOT he refuses the ticket that will be offered to him. that he thrice refuses the kingly crown, and thus enters history on his own footing.

obama still has to win some more states, and when then offered “the deal”, he must say: “Nay”. he must say: no sir, no ma’am, no master… no deal! he must go his own way, to be his own master. to lead!

to lead the way. this is obama’s promise. a new way, like there was once a new deal, and far still beyond such thing. he promised, and we do believe. we hope.

obama must win, and he must win entirely, or he is bound to lose it all. he must be the winner-takes-it-all. for all the rest would be just clintonism, over and over again. the old ways. no place for the new. no place for an obama. no place for those who hoped with him, through him, for him. no place for us.

refuse the price. gamble all-or-nothing, but gamble it straight and strong. be obama! and if you lose, you’ll lose with grace: uncompromised.

only this would be the obama that we need. only this would be a new beginning.

this is how high the stakes are now. the next president will be a democrat. but will it be obama?

Remember, the Feb. 5th Latino vote was much more pro-Obama than the early ballots, and Arizona, New Mexico and especially Colorado and Connecticut saw big Latino support for Obama.

Although La Opinion is LA-based, their print runs are apparently nationwide especially in the Southwest.

For any of you living out in the West especially, the daily newspaper is just a couple quarters from the machines or the local 7-11, and Sunday’s is 75 cents.

A few of my brothers and sisters in California now have gotten in the habit of buying a copy of La Opinion every couple days here and there– to be honest, out here or in Florida, you really gotta know some Spanish anyway to get a good job or promotion, and I guess Spanish preceded English by centuries here so maybe there’s some fairness in that. La Opinion’s editorials are bilingual and so it’s a fantastic way to improve on Spanish, and it’s apparently a very high-quality newspaper like people are saying. (FWIW I’ve also been much more favorable toward the LA Times now that they maintained their integrity and endorsed Obama.)

That’s EXACTLY what I think, too. I realized this after reading the “progressive” blogs and how Hillary’s supporters kept saying how Obama will get destroyed by the Republicans. They want her to get into a WWE steel caged match-up against the Republicans. To them this is payback for all the years of being humiliated and treated like punks.

Obama reminds them of Dukakis, Mondale and Kerry, the Demorcrats that didn’t stand up and fight back. Her supporters are done with “nice,” “naive” candidates, they want to get even. And if Obama is destroyed by the Clinton machine, sadly, some of her supporters will think it’s a good thing because it’ll prove that Obama isn’t ready to go up against the big, bad Republicans. They don’t want “unity,” “change” and “bipartisanship.” They want to make the Republicans pay and the only way these supporters can excise their anger is by having Hillary be the one to deliver the knock out blows.

These also included many provisional ballots which are also pro-Obama (overseas workers, military people, students in college).

Now, this is going to court since it appears the ballots maintained in the home of the Clinton supporter *were* tampered with to, uh, reduce their absolute numbers– since most were pro-Obama anyway, this would “reduce turnout.” The Obama attorneys of course are demanding an investigation, while Hillary’s want to just use the tampered ballots as is.

I tell you, all this on top of the Clintons’ other attempts at vote fraud– suing to close caucus sites in Nevada and even then shutting them down early, giving false directions to caucusgoers, attacking GOTV efforts in New Hampshire, tossing out 700,000 pro-Obama ballots in California b/c of some BS technicality, suing to stop Iowa college students from voting, trying to hack the voting machines in South Carolina.

What’s next? The Hillary team giving baseball bats to some guys to go and beat up on Blacks at polling places in the upcoming states?

I’m honestly starting to wonder, are the KKKlintons openly trying to destroy the country? As in, provoking massive, bloody, nationwide riots? Because that’s exactly what will happen if Hillary gets nominated– stealing elections in a country like this, especially considering the history of KKKlinton-style racist attacks against Black people, is the surest path to tearing this country apart. And there won’t be anything to stop it.

The answer is simple…Vengeance…not against Obama, but against Republicans. It’s clearer to me now….They stand with Billary b/c re-electing Billary would be the greatest repudiation of the Republicans. I agree…it would be. But would it solve the greater problems that this country faces.

This PBS Special has made me wonder what separates the Joseph Lowerys and Toni Morrisons from the John Lewises and Maya Angelous…it became clear…the Billary supporters have some deep-seated “hatreds” embedded (justly so):
