It’s right to satirize the disgusting sexism that has made this campaign season so damn miserable. But it’s disingenuous, at best, to do that while specifically, and apparently without any sense of irony, deploying the inevitably weighty word “Black.”

We’ll never know what the SNL hit rate would have been on each of the candidates had the WGA strike not gone on as long as it did. I like to hope they’d have been more equal-opportunity in terms of pillorying anybody and everybody in power. (Hope: it’s a powerful thing, and a tool for actual change, however it may be cynically maligned by Clinton, et. al.)

P.S. And don’t even get me started on Taylor Marsh. Whatever “feminism” she claims to operate from is not the one I’ve been embracing for decades now.

Whatever the case, I found her strident (hey, I can say it because it’s true and I’m a woman), and (like Nita above) it immediately reminded me of how she acted during Kobe Bryant’s rape case. Didn’t she announce the defense attorney’s phone number on the air because she was so angry that the lawyer said the name of the victim in court?

Ugh. Talk about jumping the shark.

Let’s promote what Obama is promoting: hope, faith, courage, change, and an end to divisiveness.

Clinton is a tragic figure. She’ll likely fall on her own sword. She doesn’t need our help and we don’t need to twist it. If people want to vote for her, so be it.

But let’s try to get people to vote for Obama instead of against Clinton. It’s all we can do to bring about the change we want.

And if you really have a problem with her tactics, write an email to the DNC directly and let them know about it.

If that was all it meant, then Bob Johnson really did mean to reference Obama’s community work on the Southside of Chicago when he made his wink wink nudge nudge statements with Hillary beside him on stage.

I ain’t buying it, Anonymous. There’s a black man and a white woman (never forget the white in front of woman) running for President, the black man is ‘beating’ the white woman, most importantly the white woman is running on identity politics — and ‘bitch is the new black’ only has one meaning? I can’t buy it.

‘Bitch’ is supposed to be fashionable now? I can’t buy it, particularly since it’s OBAMA who’s being described as running the feminine campaign — and ‘bitchy’ Hillary has lost 11 in a row, not counting the close contests in New Hampshire and Nevada, and not counting the farces that were Michigan and Florida. So how exactly is ‘bitch’ fashionable, in Tina Fey’s world?

It just appears like more circling the wagons b.s., kind of like older white women flocking to Hillary because she cried over how she’s able to have her hair done every day; and older black women flocking to Hillary because Bill cheated on her. Bitch isn’t really fashionable, but seeing yourself in a person being attacked is. That’s human, but Tina and crew need to be honest.

Besides, what happened to kicking anybody’s butt who used the term ‘bitch’ for Hillary? They need to make up their minds about whether or not they’re going to embrace the word or not as descriptive of their candidate.

And yes, I caught that ‘bitch is the new black’. Yes, I found it offensive. No, I didn’t think that it was just a play on the old fashion statement. No, I don’t think Hillbots realize how offensive it is to make that statement this year. Yes, I remember how Tina Fey’s SNL treated Kobe Bryant. Yes, I realize that SNL has always underutilized their black cast members (except during the Eddie Murphy years, but that was in spite of themselves). Even Chris Rock, white America’s favorite comedian, was reduced to stereotypes (ie — Long Dong Silver during the Thomas-Hill hearings) who weren’t in control. What I’m wondering about is the type of people who found that stuff funny or Tina Fey’s Weekend Update endorsement of Clinton appropriate. Then again, I thought MadTV’s Umbrella parody was hilarious; but apparently most people on political blogs feel it was tasteless and without humor. I guess that’s my prole slip showing.

Is gender identity politics that important? I guess it is. But I feel no kinship with Tina Fey. The fellow feelings I felt for Hillary Clinton because she had her own ambitions, not because she stuck with a philanderer, are lost now. Her entire campaign has been disrespectful — but the Hillbots continue to try to paint OBAMA as the ‘arrogant’ (code word?) and disrespectful one.

That pedastal must feel aweful comfy in spite of itself.

What about the actor portraying Obama in tan face? Surely that should be added.

I don’t know whether to laugh or weep about SNL’s choice to play Barack.

Now, having said all that,I think that the joke about “bitch being the new black” is more a play on what the fashion world says each year–that a new color palette is the new black. You know, orange is the new black. Grey is the new black, etc.

Or, am I giving them more credit than they deserve?
