I agree it’s time for people who do this to retire or be retired. It’s time for a new era Black leadership that understands more clearly what Black people want today, as opposed to what we were compelled to accept yesterday.

@ constructive feedback, hello. you’ve made me think about several things. some, i agree with you with. some, i strongly disagree with you with. it would be a very long post, though.

in the meanwhile, off topic, may i suggest you pick up a copy of Obama’s two books? many of the things you’re concerned about, i think you’re mind will be more at ease about when it comes to Obama.

And now for a shout out to the people of Iowa, who aren’t getting any play at all for the role they’ve played in Obama’s march to the nomination and the White House — and less than zero for their role in opening black eyes to what many whites already saw in Obama. I wonder why that is.

It’s a pretty common argument to say that these attacks now will “sharpen up” Barack for the run against the Republicans. But honestly, how could the Republicans be any worse?

They can’t. And if they’re wise, they’ll listen to Karl Rove, who himself is on record as saying Republicans should quit using ‘Hussein’ and refer to Obama as ‘Senator Obama’. John McCain digs into an emcee for his event because the emcee emphasized Obama’s middle name (and there’s a question about whether that was planned with the emcee being a dupe to make McCain look good).

The operation of putting up a challenger to the “moss covered” incumbent that governs the Black community – only to have this challenger having more youthful energy but for the most part the SAME FAILED POLICIES is NOT an example of “holding the POLICIES that dominate our communities to account for making actual PROGRESS!”

The recent election of Donna Edwards in Maryland was not an example of “holding a CBC member ‘accountable’”. It was an example of the retrenchment of a particular popular ideological perspective within the Black community. Albert Wynn was replaced by someone who can sit comfortably in an interview for “Democracy Now” with Amy Goodwin and who is a darling for the poverty activism group ACORN. GREAT!!!

Now that they have pursued this particular enforcement action upon their IDEOLOGY – how about explaining why in so many other districts around this country where this popular ideology for Black people runs unchecked – our BLACK BEST INTERESTS have failed to be expressed?

For me, anonymous – I am far, far past the OCCUPANT OF THE SEAT at a given time. I am setting up a JURY TRIAL for the IDEOLOGY THAT THEY ARE BOUND TO itself!

The best way for me to accomplish this is to REMIND YOU BLACK PEOPLE of the PURPOSE OF OUR POLITICAL ACTIVISM and get you to put THESE POINTS ahead of your IDEOLOGICAL and PARTISAN CONSIDERATION lest you continue to accept these mediocre results for our communities because you are in pursuit of maintaining UNITY with your IDEOLOGY or POWER for Your PARTY.

It is the Black community inside that gets left behind in this scheme. With more POLITICAL POWER I thought the plan was that benefit would flow within to our schools, our local economies and the safety of our streets?

Once again – what are we working for?

I’ll personally find more RACIAL PRIDE in High Performing public schools, safe streets where we can commune together at any time of the day, a local economy that can employ our people when the downtown corporations can’t and healthy lifestyles ANY DAY over a “Black President” in the context of the AMERICAN political system. The former is not a FUNCTION of the later and the LATER does not guarantee the FORMER will be accomplished.

What are your ADVOCATING FOR again?

MY “enslaved ancestors” were striving for the 4 points on the list above. They knew NOTHING about the “President of the United States” during the time of their bondage to one day hope that THEIR OFFSPRING WOULD ONE DAY SIT IN THE CHAIR. Nor did they have a president in Africa from wince they came.

I am not asking you to NOT VOTE FOR OBAMA.
I am asking you to NOT LOSE SIGHT OF WHAT YOU ARE ACTUALLY WORKING FOR AS A PEOPLE.

To contstructive feedback…I actually agree with you in terms of holding politicians accountable for their progress or lack of. There are politicians across this country who basically get so comfortable in their ward, district, city they no longer even bother. You only hear from them during election time (and that’s only if they are facing a serious challenge). They feel “entitled” to the position (like someone else we may know). This past election in Chicago alot of long time alderman found themselves facing for the first time serious challengers. These challengers were mainly due to gentrfication of neighborhoods. I welcomed these challenges. I know for one I was sick of complaining to my alderman who ignored my numerous correspondence. Guess what, he lost his spot.

It’s not just about policy. It’s about the way we are represented in society, and going on television and casting Obama as some kind of foreigner helps perpetuate the myth that black people are somehow less “American” than white people. Passing broad government reforms like health care can be derailed by percieved “differences” among the groups that benefit, which is part of how Republicans were able to demonize welfare by casting it as a “black entitlement” even though there will always be more white people on welfare in this country.

From a policy standpoint, Tubbs-Jones remarks not only hurt the presumptive nominee’s ability to pass the kind of policy reforms that we need, by further perpetuating the idea that being black somehow makes you “different” or “foreign”. What makes it particularly egregious is that Tubbs-Jones should know better.

This kind of fearmongering hurts black people. It’s really not enough to say “well, her politics are okay,” if she’s going on TV to perpetuate stereotypes on behalf of her candidate.

Interesting how most of you loved her “scarf” that is now a “handkerchief” when in 2006 she told about the benefits that Black America would receive upon helping the DEMOCRATS to take over congress as we would get several Black committee chairmen. I guess you all forgot that one?

At the end of the day Ms. Tubbs-Jones will be in her seat at the Democratic convention this summer as will all of the Black Obama and Clinton supporters.

In a CBC meeting if someone yelled out “Hey you PROGRESSIVE look over here!” Stephanie Tubbs-Jones, Jesse Jackson Jr, John Lewis and nearly everyone else in the meeting would look.

Aside from this INTRAMURAL FIGHT – please articulate the POLICY differences between this one Democratic Faction and the other. Please detail how the Black community members in their respective districts are benefiting from their POLICIES.

It is nice to see you all calling for some of their retirements. I only wish it was something more SUBSTANTIVE than their defunct Debate with Fox News.

If after looking at the economic, academic and public safety statistics that are present today in many of the districts that various members of the Congressional Democratic Black Caucus preside over today – be they FOR or AGAINST Obama…..and having done so the only thing that you can find to hold against them is their agreement to host a debate with Fox News then it is YOU who have the problem with Low Expectations – not Stephanie Tubbs Jones.

Please indicate the difference in vital statics for Black people in the district of pro-Clinton Stephanie Tubbs-Jones and Pro-Obama Jesse Jackson Jr?

There is no difference in outcome and there is no ultimate difference in their POLICIES. Black people living in their district get the short end of the stick by the POLICIES of “Empty Hope” while being pacified by the notion that “The Fox News Debate that never happened” was a VICTORY because the Black bloggers got it canceled.
