You’re right. This nomination is not a foregone conclusion.

But I see a different reason for this.

I cannot stress this enough. The MATH is NOT in Hillary Clinton’s favor.

In order for her to have a legitimate “comeback,” she’d basically have to run the table. Even more, she’d have to win TX, OH, and PA by HUGE margins. The math says she has to get roughly 57-65% of the remaining delegates to even have a shot at winning the Pledged delegate race. We work in a proportional system. I could be wrong, but I’ve heard that really means that she’d have to get something like 70% of the popular vote in places like TX, OH and PA (if she gets that far) to honestly call it a comeback.

This is my problem. I am royally pissed that the Clintons are spinning this as a must win. Sounds weird for me to say that, right? Well, by spinning those states as “must win” scenarios, they set the spin in place that would allow her to claim a comeback even if she only wins by a few percentage points in each state.

Last night on MSNBC, I heard a Clinton supporter say that, should Hillary win TX, OH, and PA (even if by small amounts) then she would have a “strong argument” to be the nominee. She would say, “look, I won more ‘big states,’therefore, I’m a stronger candidate for the general election.”

This is complete B.S.!! It’s a spin of PERCEPTION and has absolutely NOTHING to do with the reality – the MATH.

My worry is that the media and the DNC are so stupid . . . so gullible, that they just might buy it. That would mean that Obama could win more states, have more popular votes, more PLEDGED delegates, yet still get screwed out of the nomination if the PERCEPTION happens to be in Hillary’s favor at that moment.

Complete garbage. I have no doubt that they will try and take this thing on the cheap.

Thankfully, Obama’s camp is already trying to put a stop to that type of spin. But I think his supporters (whether it be in radio or bloggers, etc.) really need to stress this line: “IT’S THE MATH, STUPID!”

Jerks like Bill O’Reilly know that in the general election, Obama would be a much stronger candidate than Clinton.

I know it’s easy to be distracted by O’Reilly’s racist language. But I would forget about the Rpeublicans for now. There will be plenty of time to deal with the Republicans in the fall, assuming Barack gets the nomination.

For now, the Democratic nomination is NOT a foregone conclusion, not at all, no matter what the media spin. The Clintons have come back from much worse.

Bill’s comment was poorly phrased-kinda like I think Michelle’s was. Whether its racist or not, I guess is open to interpretation.

The point I think he was trying to make is that, based on her comment, her level of patriotism may be questionable. And for a segment of the population-and not just the “racist” segment, cause I was a bit concerned-an unwavering faith in our country is important.

Barack Obama doesn’t allow his opponent’s BS to go unanswered. He deals with these attacks, directly from the stump very deftly…but the “media” is a different creature…the O’Reillys, the Matthews, et al.

Tonight by happenstance, I turned to ABC News…formerly World News Tonight…Their lead story (as determined by their managing editor Charlie Gibson) was “Hillary in Trouble” vs. “Obama Sweeps 10-in-a-Row!”

They led with stories about Hillary vs. Obama’s success…NBC/Brian Williams did the exact opposite: OBAMA’s Victory was the lead story tonight. Which is why I watch NBC Nightly News.

Why do I bring this up? Just to say that Charlie Gibson and ABC News is wack. The caliber of their newcast has fallen…Peter Jennings is probably spinning in his grave.

But Obama and Michelle have got bigger fish to fry than to worry about O’Reilly right now. If they want to come out with a statement, then fine. But the last thing they need, at this crucial time, is to engage in a fight with the likes of Bill O’Reilly right before they secure the Democratic nomination.

You have to pick your battles. Part of the reason why Hillary is doing so poorly is because she’s been knocked off message several times (Shuster’s comment being one of them). That shows a lack of discipline. She got too caught up in trying to score political points and lost sight of the big picture.

Obama and Michelle should stay focused on one thing: ending the Democratic Primary on March 4/5th. That’s going to take solid wins in Ohio and Texas.

Don’t take the bait. What would you rather have them do for the next two weeks?: Spend that time arguing with right wing idiots like O’Reilly; or using that same time to seal the deal in Texas and Ohio?

It’s a fine line to walk. But, falling for another “don imus” moment could do more harm than good. O’Reilly ain’t running for President, Hillary Clinton is. They can not divert their attention and give her an inch to slip back into this thing. Close it out!

There are going to be many Jimmy-the-Greeks coming out of their mental closets…

For those who may not know/remember Jimmy the Greek, he was fired from CBS Sports in 1986 for making the following comments (hat-tip to Wikipedia):

“The black is a better athlete to begin with because he’s been bred to be that way — because of his high thighs and big thighs that goes up into his back, and they can jump higher and run faster because of their bigger thighs. This goes back all the way to the Civil War when during the slave trading, the owner — the slave owner would breed his big black to his big woman so that he could have a big black kid”

So Keep IT Up Bill O’Reilly…your ass will be on HBO and then i’ll have to cancel my subscription.

We’ll see how this is handled. There was a gigantic stink over the pimp comment. There should be a louder stink over this. Bill O should be fired. Period. Even Imus didn’t use the word “lynch.”

I think America is flawed. Does that mean that I should be lynched, too?

I’ve always said, “If you want to know if someone is racist, bring up the subject of racism to someone who is not the same race as you are. If they admit that it exists, they’re probably not racist. Most racists hide their feelings to the general public, but not usually from people who look like them. I say this to say, they know even better than us that racism exists.

And on the patriotism issue: I guess Cindy McCain would be prouder of a country whose law enforcement agency gave her a free ride because of who her husband was.

In any case, I’m still going to call and email Fox News about Bill O’s racist and violent coment.
