I care more about real issues facing average Americans. The elite Beltway Press–people like Russert and Williams make $4 million a year–don’t understand real issues because they don’t have to face them. Consequently, real issues–like health care and NAFTA–are declared boring, and the media obsesses on the petty–from Hillary’s tear to “plagiarism” to photo of Obama in a foreign country to the words of the bigot Farrakhan. It doesn’t help me get health insurance, it doesn’t help a kid go to college, it doesn’t help the family that is a paycheck away from losing their house, it doesn’t help the person who saw their job at the steel mill be sent to Juarez and the list goes on. The fact that Obama doesn’t play these petty games and actually addresses the real issues facing Americans is precisely why he’s winning, and precisely why he’ll be the next President of the United States–much to the media’s frustration…they’re going to lose their tax cuts.

That’s exactly it. She’s always turned a blind eye to his philandering in exchange for what he could do for her politically. Now it’s dawning on her that it was all for nothing…she sold herself out for nothing. Now, her image(illusion) has been damaged and Bill’s image is toast; and, she still won’t win the nomination! If Clinton thinks she can actually win this election by playing the victim, more power to her. If she thinks referring to a comedy skit is good presidential campaigning, more power to her. But if she thought she was going to have it easy as a woman riding on her husband’s coattails to victory, she ought not to have run in the first place. Perhaps she ought to have divorced Clinton and separated herself from him completely before running and then she might actually have a point. At least one of the Democratic candidates came prepared to deal with all the attacks coming his way. He’ll be far better prepared to be President. Obama won the debate hands down.

Hillary tried to paing Obama as a Jew hater, plain and simple.

She should have been called on this, but nobody said shit about her underhanded slur. As lolo noted on my blog, the group she said she distanced herself from is also headed by a black person. She’s trying to get Jewish peole to believe they can’t trust the Negroes.

The HILLARY “STEP DOWN WITH GRACE” CAMPAIGN

Contact the DNC to let Howard Dean know that we feel that Hillary should step down in a respectful manner since she is obvously not going to win the nomination. This would be the right gesture for her political future as well as the right gesture for the Democratic Party. Last week on the Field Negro a commentator stated they were a Washington insider and knew firsthand how many of the female CBC members had “cougar’d” up on Obama when he first hit the Washington scene only to be turned down flat. I thought it just idle gossip but now, I wonder if there isn’t something to it.

Maybe I am just imagining things, but Tubbs acts as if it’s less about defending Clinton as it is about throwing some venom down on Obama. Did he do something, real or imagined, to offend her personally?

She sounded so petty when she bought up the SNL bit.

In listening to the morning shows it seems most think the debate was a draw, that Obama did what he needed to and Clinton didn’t do anything to change the dynamic.

Second, the only challenge that comes from Tuesday’s debate is the Trinity UCC question. Personally, though, I don’t think the GOP wants to implement a tactic of politically attacking churches. Nor do they want to open up the can of worms of segregated or homogenous churches. The so-called “party of faith” hasn’t a leg to stand on in this regard. But if the question does come up, i.e., “Senator Obama, if you’re truly about unity, why do you attend an ‘unashamedly Black’ church?“. I would hope Barack’s response is something like “I attended my church long before political pundits knew or cared about my church. Are you suggesting that I leave my church home only because it’s politically expedient to do so?” or something to that affect.

That should put the whole church thing to rest.

This is a great rebuttal. I think that point should be made each and every time someone wants to slam Barack Obama with Louis Farrakhan.

And don’t let us start digging up the video and newspaper articles of endorsements from damning Republicans like Strom Thurmond, Trent Lott and the rest.

And Stephanie Tubbs Jones – Lawd, Lawd, Lawd… I can’t WAIT to see who will be challenging her for her seat in Ohio.

I like Obama’s church and believe in their message.I love how his pastor said that, Bill Clinton did to black people what he did to monica Lewinsky”..its so right. An old professor of mine actually attended it when she was at the University at Chicago for her masters. She would always speak fondly of it. However i know how the media loves to spin and fear monger esp when they have Farrakhan in the pciture and I hope that they dont entertain creating a non-issue. Of course, this is an old issue that is being brought up. The Rezko thing was an old and debunked issue that was brought up by Hillary’s desperate behind but people entertained it for too long regardless.

I’m watching the debate again, Hillary looked kind of defeated at points. I’m studying her body language. She usually has this smirk on her face but she looks like shes about to cry.

I purposefully wrote United Health Insurance. It is as much about forcing payment for medical services as it is making sure folks can be taken care of when they are sick. If it were Universal Health Care everyone would have it regardless of their financial status. Listen to Hillary’s criticism of Obama’s plan. She constantly says that if folks aren’t forced to buy insurance, the rest of “us” who have purchased it will end up paying their medical bills through a secret tax.

I would really like to know more about the types of coverages that will be provided at what costs!

That was truly a non-sequitor. I had to switch the channel seeing her toothy grin and “yassah boss” demeanor.
