Well Hiliary says she's ready from day one, but she wasn't ready for a Black man running against her. She ain't been able to manage her campaign money, staff or even herself, so give me a break! This was nothing but the typical dull political speech - and I don't remember hearing all her talk about Black issues before, but perhaps I just missed it. *smch*

Hey YALL,
I've been missing my JJP! You best believe it. I really missed out on the SOTU threads...sorry I couldn't comment any sooner.
Is anyone else on this blog keeping up with Detroit's KWAME Kilpatrick...does anyone else care? Do I need to write a post and submit it via email? I think that we should definitely be discussing Kwame on here.

I'm am so over her and the rest of the Democratic establishment's patronizing of us. I'm sick of the missionary speeches of how they are going to save us. I can not listen to her in one breath warn the country that electing a young, Black man will be devastating for American then in the next tell us that our interests will be best served by the benevolence and strength of a White woman.
I'm through with being a charity project!

I used to believe that that flag pin nonsense and the refusal to pledge to the flag were freeper idiocy ..... now, what if the freepers are just parroting the lines Clinton folks fed them all along?
@Anonymous, I remember the crowd reaction shots for Dick Gregory... everybody stood up, arms waving, fanning, turning around, all over the place -- audience and panel -- even when he was whipping their asses (with love). Took me back, in the good way. The side-eyes must have been in full effect with Hillary on the stage. Dang. I hope somebody has some 'on the ground' crowd shots somewhere to post on like youtube. oh well.

I'm done with Tavis.[/i]
Missy Anne, eh? That reminds me, a long time ago, on a tv special far, far away...

I went to Blacks4Barack.org and scoured all over that site but there is no reference to any Hillary Step Down campaign. :( What's the deal? I was all excited too...

@anonymous, Jack Kingston was on Bill Maher's show this past Friday spitting the same nonsense about the lapel pin and not pledging allegiance to the flag. Someone brought up the fact that our very own President Bush has been caught quite a few times without pledging allegiance. Kingston is all about the good ole boy network and bringing down anyone who doesn't fit the membership requirements.
Yes, I love how Tavis always goes on record of holding Senator Obama accountable and questioning what can he do for us, but at the same time gives HRC free reign and lightweight questions. I want to see him come at her with the same fierceness.

A flag pin made in China means you are a patriot??

Stop airing our dirty laundry. (wink)

She's a joke, just like Tavis and this insipid forum that gets nothing done, other than air our dirty laundry, and, C-span should stop showing it, or show the Hispanics, Native Americans and Asians and gays if they are of such a fair mind, which, of course they are not.
A flag pin made in China means you are a patriot?? Only with the GOP will you hear this nonsense, get back to me Jack Kingston when you are ready to get some help for those still stuck without homes in New Orleans, or why you and the rest of the GOP don't want kids to have insurance, then a flag on your cheap suit will be worthy of a debate. Sheesh, do, they ever talk about real issues?

Maybe you could cover this on your blog. Rep. Jack Kingston was on Dan Abrams last night ranting about how "unamerican" Sen. Obama is because he doesn't have a flag pin on. As Jossip notes.... "Kingston was not wearing an American flag lapel pin."
People seem to be coming up with all sorts of reasons to not be labeled racist. "Oh it's not racism, I just think he needs to wear a lapel pin" :S
So, she gave a 15 minute speech and then got 15 minutes of softballs (with 10 minute answers!) from Tavis ALONE on stage (no Cornel West and Dick Gregory for Senator Clinton!)
I'm sure Senator Obama would have gotten the same consideration (NOT!) It would have been like facing a firing squad for him.
And the remarks about June "my husband didn't win the nomination by June" and "we will certainly have a nominee by June" presumes that she will not LOSE soundly in Texas and/or Ohio.
And it was probably made before the news broke that most of her staff would be quitting on March 5 if she doesn't do well on March 4.
Also:
* I love how she talks as if Stephanie Tubbs Jones and Sheila Jackson Lee represent most black women when upwards of 80% of black women have supported Obama so far (except in New York where it was clear that there was CHEATING in Charlie Rangel's Harlem district and other mostly black/Latino districts represented by Clinton supporters). Even Michael Bloomberg said that obvious "fraud" was involved.
* Stunning how few audience shots there are. They probably had a hard time because most folks were probably giving her the side eye.
