Uhm I was going to comment for the first time, but I must mention that the word verification thing is off
(I don't want to offend but mine says azwpgays)

Also I think it is a good thing if AFrican Americans are no longer beholden to one party. Vote for me bc I'm black does not work, but either does don't vote for him bc he's black but not one of us. I know the press might not understand but we aren't stupid. I live in OH and I do not know any black person who voted for Blackwell, oh and race never was an issue in that election.

The sad thing is, these dispicable comments from Bob Johnson will probably be all over the local news in S.Carolina, and Hillary is still going to get a ton of black votes. Mark my words.

I have been good and bothered for quite a while that the first black folks to get a voice in the election are SC negros. Yeah, I said that schitt. The least of us does not need to be first. Yeah, I said it and you all know it's true. They may as well have made Mississippi the first state with a sizeable black vote. It's the same thing. Uneducated low income black folks who still believe in a white savior, Mississippi or SC, it's the same damn thing.

Mark my words, Obama is speaking a language black SC folks do not understand, empowerment from the bottom up. Those kind of negroes don't understand that and we all know that's true.

South Carolina is going to Hillary. She's painting herself as a victimized Scarlett O'Hara and black folks like that will do what ever they have to do to save Miss Scarlett. Watch.

they also knew that half the voters in the next primary in SC were also black.

The next primary is in Nevada, not South Carolina. The primary minorities in that vote (especially in the coveted Culinary Workers Union the Clintons are now actively trying to disenfranchise since they endorsed Obama) are Hispanic/Latino.

But as soon as he loses in NH and gets a little beat up, suddenly his campaign remembers he's black - they also knew that half the voters in the next primary in SC were also black.

Did Obama's campaign plan the consistent pattern of Clinton backers, beginning with Bob Shaheen's (husband of ex-NH governor Jeanne Shaheen) suggestion that Obama was a drug dealer? Did they plan Andrew Cuomo's "shuck and jive" remark? Bob Kerrey's "madrassa" remark?

As each remark was made and the CLEAR PATTERN EMERGED - the Black blogosphere AND Black radio rang the alarm.

Donna Brazile and James Clyburn's comments brought to the mainstream who don't listen to black radio or read black blogs.

You can try and twist it all you want BUT those of us who have been paying attention all along ain't buying it.

No one finds it interesting that Obama never mentioned race while he was campaigning in Iowa. But as soon as he loses in NH and gets a little beat up, suddenly his campaign remembers he's black - they also knew that half the voters in the next primary in SC were also black. Reminds me a bit of OJ, who forgot where he came from until he was facing a bunch of whites in a courtroom on a murder charge. Then he was like, brothers and sisters, can you pray for me? Uh, hell to the no.

Hillary is blaming the Obama campaign for the controversies. I guess the Obama campaign forced Andrew Cuomo's hand and made him say "shuck and jive". And they definitely forced Bob Kerrey to bring up the Madrassa/Manchurian candidate thing.

Hillary Clinton: "I regret the way that this matter has been used," Clinton told reporters. "The comments about it are baseless and divisive. I was personally offended at the approach taken that was not only misleading but unnecessarily hurtful."

She suggested reporters consider the sources of the criticism, much of which has come from the black community.

"I think it clearly came from Senator Obama's campaign and I don't think it's the kind of debate we should be having in our campaign," she said.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22628538/

Barack Obama's response:

On a media conference call Sunday, Obama said Clinton was guilty of "an unfortunate remark, an ill-advised remark," and denied that his campaign was whipping up black opposition to the former first lady.

"She is free to explain that, but the notion that somehow this is our doing is ludicrous," Obama said, going on to attack Washington politicians who think "it is acceptable to say or do anything it takes to get elected."

http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5h5KUDdIJQBWGV9TXmKgmTRtayjPw

Even black conservatives have taken notice. This is from Booker Rising (although the site owner describes herself as Libertarian). Here is her response:

My response: When even Rep. Jim Clyburn, a black South Carolina Democrat who is neutral thus far and one of Congress' highest ranking members, cries foul then you know there is political trouble. I must say that when I first heard Sen. Clinton's comments, my first thoughts were: "Damn, did Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., other civil rights activists, and regular black folks not play a key part?!?! Didn't act and lay their lives on the line?!?! Yeah right, the white man did all the work and saved the day. White girl, puhleeze. You are talkin' crazy." While the "spade work" comment also raised my eyebrows, that comment may be been race-neutral. As far as I know, Sen. Obama has been opposed to the Iraq War from the start (although one can certain question whether his votes for funding the war are consistent) so former President Bill Clinton's claim that his "Obama is a fairy tale" remark related to alleged flip-flopping on the Iraq War makes no sense. However, I can see how Sen. Obama's supporters would interpret that remark as being insensitive to some folks' desire to see a black president. However, the Clintons' comments are nowhere as bad as Andrew Cuomo's "shuck and jive" comments. I smell a foul political pattern among some white liberal supporters of the Clintons here.

Clinton Hits Back As Racial Tensions Sour White House Contest.

http://bookerrising.blogspot.com/2008/01/clinton-hits-back-as-racial-tensions.html

Now this is some unbelievable shit:

"UPDATE: Introducing Senator Clinton in Columbia, SC, Johnson seemed to reference Sen Obama’s past drug use when talking about the Clinton’s long experience in the civil rights movement. “As an African American, I am frankly insulted that the Obama campaign would imply that we are so stupid that we would think Hillary and Bill Clinton, who have been deeply and emotionally involved in black issues when Barack Obama was doing something in the neighborhood that I won’t say what he was doing that he said it in his book,” he said."

Bob, mother fuckin', coon network Johnson throwing salt at Senator Obama?

Francis, I believe you are absolutely right. I also believe it will never happen. The Clintons will never let it happen. If Obama wins the nomination (unlikely...keep watching February 5...Super Tuesday)Clinton won't settle for number two. If Clinton wins, she will not want to be upstaged by Obama's star quality and symbolic significance. When have the Clinton's EVER done anything more for the party than they have for themselves? Bill Clinton couldn't even maintain the modicum of decorum during his term that would have insured his ability to get things done that would have helped our country immensely.

Very few people are talking about Obama's "Blackness" and everyone is talking about his "race". Do these words mean the same thing, or does one of these words put Obama at a disadvantage? Although focus groups have been gathered to study whether "Hillary Rodham Clinton" or "Hillary Clinton" is a better name, I don't know if anyone has bothered to question whether referring to Obama's "race" or his "color" most helps or hurts his campaign.

NYT: Women's Rights vs. Blacks' Rights: An Improbable Collision Course in 2008

NYT Asks: "Will the White Male Monopoly End in 2008?"

I, too, am really annoyed by the Clintons' suggestion that this row is caused by Obama. It's not. Clinton surrogates are using Obama's color and America's color-arousal against Obama, and that's very dirty pool, especially reprehensible coming from fellow Democrats rather than Republicans.

I realize that the Clintons have to say SOMETHING in this battle against Obama, but by kicking us in the groin as their first fight technique they make it harder for us to walk beside them later on.

The best solution is for Clinton and Obama to share the ticket, with whomever wins selecting the other as the running mate.

Some people are too rapped up in the battle of the moment to see the logic of this solution, but if Clinton wins the nomination she will HAVE to choose a running mate. As the last other candidate standing, Obama will have earned that position.

But if Obama wins the nomination, then certainly the same will be true of Clinton. As the last candidate standing besides the nominee, she will have earned a right to a place on the ticket - not a white male who has received less or no votes and who has done NOTHING to earn a place on the ticket.

There is strength in unity and we have to look right now to how we are going to unify the Party for Novemeber. The way to unify the Party is simply to have both Hillary and Obama on the ticket. Swallow that pill.

I told you a long time ago that the only folks that the 'Is he Black enough?' discussion was important to were:

White folk
Black sellouts who were offended that Obama took the opposite choices of them and became successful anyway.
Jealous Handkerchief Heads

Great Blog!

Anyway, I am a Libertarian, and vote against anyone who looks like a Democrat. Too bad that Obama isn't a Republican...he would win for sure, and I would certainly vote for him if he wasn't a Democrat. I am new at this voting, but have noticed that the Democrat Party uses 'Black' Americans like pawns in a chess game. Pawns are actually very valuable, if one understands what a "End Game" is actually about, which the Democrat Party doesn't understand...or, doesn't want to understand.

I've been following your Blog here, since it is doing a great job of covering what I see as a historical pattern of the Democrat Party...so to speak.
