Hi everyone,

I really do like & voted for Obama, but Kai is right, it's a dangerous premise that Obama is building a base that is colorblind.

It's going to be real challenging to sustain the broad coalition he's organizing.

If anyone's interested, Shelby Steele came out with a book: A Bound Man: Why we are excited about Obama and why he can't win.

Obama can't attack racism head-on as he is campaigning. If he does, he will lose. That doesn't mean, however, that he will look over it as president.

We gotta trust the brother. We are more apt to trust people like the Clintons (maybe from our slave days) than someone black.

There is strategy at play here.

I think Obama knows using racial equality as an overt theme will get him thrown overboard in an instant. I mean look at it, the Clintons race-baited him and whites ran from him like he was Tank Johnson.
