Well, let's see: bin Laden, al Zawhari of the Muslin Brotherhood, to name two. I'm sure there's others-you could probably include Ahmajenidad (sp?)-but I'm sure you've heard those names before.

And the numbers I have show violence in Iraq going down....

If you have to ask who the radical islamists are, you may have missed the whole 9/11-al Qaeda thing...

d., is that your way of saying you don't know who the radical islamists (sic) are either?

The Democratic ideal is to bring our troops back from the batttlefront where are are sitting ducks in a shooting gallery.

Quetion:
How do you fight a war on Terror? Terror is not a person, place or thing, it's a state of mind. Who exactly are the radical islamist(sic)? How do you fight radical islamist(sic)?
What is meant by "Surrender in the War on Terror"? Who the heck is Terror?

While I'm asking questions, I will ask one more, how is not voting if your candidate doesn't win or writing in a name teach the Democratic Party and the Clinton's a lesson? This is a contest. In this contest there can only be one winner. If you can't stand to lose you don't need to play. If you don't vote you don't get a say. Writing in a name is the same as not voting in my humble opinion.

I do find it interesting that so many people are so willing not to vote or just write someone in because their candidate doesn't get the nomination. Have we really become so brazenly partisian that we're not willing to even listen to what the other side has to say? Maybe that's the benefit of being (somewhat of) an independent.

The flipside is that if I were a presidential candidate, I wouldn't want someone to give me their vote, when its really a vote against someone else.

And as an aside, I'm not sure which would embolden radical islamists more: not voting, or voting for the party who CLEARLY advocates our surrender in the War on Terror.

ABC

Anyone but Clinton.

In my life, a Bush or Clinton has always been in the White House. If I wanted to live in a dynasty, I'd move to Bhutan.

Good news: it's apparently all tied up in Connecticut now, and that doesn't even account for Ted Kennedy's endorsement. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/latestpolls/index.html

But honestly, I thought Dowd was trying to show that Clinton is a cold, calculating politician while Obama is a real person.

For those of you that won't vote for Hillary thinking you can endure another 4 years of Republican rule, I submitt it's not about you. It's about our troops, it's about our children, it's about our future, it's about country, it's about saving our Democracy.

It is about our children. The Black Young Men and increasingly Young Women that Clinton has vowed to get elected on by sending them to the Prison Industrial Complex. So, for them, too, I say HELL NO to voting for Hillary.

She has absolutely no intentions of bringing the troops home. BANK on that.

Like I said above, if I wanted a Rethug War Monger, choose the original.

The terrorist win when you don't vote.

I never said I wouldn't vote. I said I'm not ever voting for Hillary.

It's not going to happen. The GOP Bogeyman just isn't going to work. That playbook has been used too many times.

"I don't plan to vote for Hillary if she gets the nomination. I understand what all of you are saying, but at some point we need to STAND UP for ourselves. The Clintons KNOW we will just follow along; that is why they have comfortably used race tactics. They will trot out all the Black leaders to tell us we need to support her. We will always be relegated to them just throwing us crumbs if we continue in this manner."

ITA! It's not about Obama or nothing. It's about show the Clintons and the Democratic how to treat us.

So if Hillary wins the nom, I'm writing in a candidate.

How are we going to stand up for ourselves against a right wing Judicial system? It's about the Courts and the Judges people. Keep your eyes on the prize. The Republican alternative is worse than the Democratic alternative, ask the fired U.S Attorneys.
The terrorist win when you don't vote.

Our sons and daughters serving in Iraq can't stomach more Republican rule.

Let us also remember that Bill Clinton was impeached not so much for trying to conceal a personal, private sexual affair, but because he stood apppointed African Americans to high level positions and talked about America looking like America.

The media and the Republicans are using the divide and conquer strategy.Republicans know blacks aren't going to vote for them so with the help of the media they are going to make sure blacks don't vote for anyone.

For those of you that won't vote for Hillary thinking you can endure another 4 years of Republican rule, I submitt it's not about you.
I feel the same way, anonymous. The Clintons offended me in ways that I (a) didn't expect; and (b) won't tolerate.

And good point about the disappearing of Howard Dean. When all of the "drug dealer", "secular madrassa", "shuck and jive" and MLK minimization was going on, Dean was M.I.A. It should never have been old-man Jim Clyburn that asked the Clintons to watch themselves. It should have been Dean (or at the very least, a DNC co-chair).

Based on their actions, I won't be voting for any Democrat other than Barack. And if that means I have to stomach incompetent and inept Republicans in the White House for the rest of my days, then so be it.

When all of the “drug dealer”, “secular madrassa”, “shuck and jive” and MLK minimization was going on, Dean was M.I.A. It should never have been old-man Jim Clyburn that asked the Clintons to watch themselves. It should have been Dean (or at the very least, a DNC co-chair).

Based on their actions, I won’t be voting for any Democrat other than Barack. And if that means I have to stomach incompetent and inept Republicans in the White House for the rest of my days, then so be it.

How dare a brilliat attractive powerful black man not have a white girl on his arm. That's why she hates Michelle and writes petty stuff about her in her columns. Not only is Michelle the black girl who doesn't deserve Barack for a husband, but she's tall, thin, beautiful, perfectly dressed, has a fab career, and two pretty babies by Barack. Maureen has the career, but that's it. She's old, has no man, and no pretty babies. So she's bitter and takes it out on Michelle and finds away to call Barack a girly man.

This just cracked me up for the unvarnished truth in it.

If you haven't already, check out that new E-Zine, The Root.com, with the piece, The REAL Prize - it's about Michelle Obama.

I'm also going to have to co-sign with those who won't vote for Hillary. Not now. Not ever. If I wanted a Rethug War Monger, then vote for the original - McCain.

Voting for her would make me complicit in her race-baiting, and thus I would be helping set into cement a ceiling for Black politicians. No way.

Three months ago I never would have considered not voting in November. But after the antics of the Clintons' I cannot in all good conscience vote for her. The idea that this couple who have enjoyed the support of black people throughout their careers threw us under the bus at the first opportunity is too much for me to overlook. (Sorry for the length)
Isn't the time over for voting against the Republicans instead of for the Democrats? Realistically, what gains did African Americans enjoy during Bill Clinton's presidency? He may have said all the right things but he did little and let's be clear, he coopted the Republican agenda and screwed over a lot of black people in the process. If we don't send a message to the Democrats that if the party wants our votes, we deserve to be treated as a valuable constituency even in non- election years. The only time they are around black people is during an election cycle or on MLK day. Instead they offend us and then trot out a bunch of you know whats to convince us how much they love us. Can you imagine if one of the Democratic candidates (or her surrogate) was out making anti-Semitic remarks? The head of the DNC would have been on every major newscast denouncing it, yet I have not seen or heard from Howard Dean. No, I will not feel bad for sitting out because maybe then the Democrats won't crap on their most loyal constituents in the future.

I don't plan to vote for Hillary if she gets the nomination. I understand what all of you are saying, but at some point we need to STAND UP for ourselves. The Clintons KNOW we will just follow along; that is why they have comfortably used race tactics. They will trot out all the Black leaders to tell us we need to support her. We will always be relegated to them just throwing us crumbs if we continue in this manner.

The only argument that ever gets me to vote for a Democrat I don't like instead of staying home is that the president will appoint Supreme Court nominees. It used to be true that Republican-appointed justices sometimes turned out to become pretty liberal, but I don't think that will happen with Alito and Roberts.

You know, we might as well get used to this, when you are black you must be perfect, flawless...to be considered good enough or meritous enough to have achieved your accomplishments on your own.

The irony is that Barack's enemies -- the neo-Nazi wing of the Clinton support system -- now know that there's no ghetto mess, baby-mama-drama or obligatory scandal that can be attached to him, so their intent now is to continue to remind white voters that Barack is ... shhh ...Black.

mint julep,

While the press corps was covering the State of the Union Address like the high school musical, some of us were focused on the reactions of the Democratic candidates to what Bush was saying. It didn't escape my attention--no matter how hard the press tried to divert it--that Hillary Clinton gave Bush a standing-o when he said the surge was working. Hmmm, this is the person who says that she intends to bring troops home in 16 months? There isn't a damn difference between Clinton and McCain except degrees.

Really though I'm not so sure the Republican alternative is worse than the Democratic one. Everyone keeps saying if you don't vote, then the alternative is that a Republican might win. In this case I'm not so sure either of the Democratic candidates will offer anything better than either of the Republican ones because as we've learned Democrats have no backbone a-tall
