Good on the young man for voting and hopefully if he isn;t so thouroughly disheartened by the process by the type Bill Clinton gets done smaering him as a useless nig he'll get to vote in his vote in his first presidential election.

if obama can appeal to latinos and white men in large delegate-rich states like NY, NJ, and CA, he has a legitimate chance to deal a near fatal blow to the clinton machine on super tuesday! the win in SC was pretty miniscule because it is a small state, but like IOWA, we can see that obama has the charisma and message to cross race, gender, and age lines to get votes... i'm going out and voting early in the georgia primary!


the clintons have completely lost me for this entire election cycle... i cannot conceive of a scenario where i would vote for hillary clinton in november... it just won't happen!



my vote is too important and my intelligence is much too great to allow someone to disrespect me (and my people) like the clintons have done over the past 2-3 weeks!

Did you watch Senator Clinton's speech from Nashville. I couldn't tell you what she said--some drivel in her fake southern accent--but what caught my attention was the brother seated behind her, slouched over with a sullen look on face that read, "what the FU@# was I thinking?!"

Too bad the Clintons can't have a touch of class:

Did Bill forget he won S. Carolina with nearly 70% of the vote in 1992? Why the comparison to Jesse Jackson of all the candidates in the world? And then for them (the Clintons) to feign indignation when they are accused of playing the race card?



I'm a young (18-29 demographic), white (non-Christian), independent (i.e. former Democrat) Obama supporter, and I am losing all respect I once had for the Clintons. While earlier I was willing to punch a Clinton ballot in the general election should she be the nominee, her campaign has so thoroughly disgusted me now that I hope that anyone but the Clintons get the nomination. His speach was awesome! Did any of you hear Pat Buchanan on MSNBC saying that the Clintons really won, and that Obama in his speech came off angry and devisive?


Joe Scarbrough and the others all conceded that Obama was the victor in that he received a substantial amount of the white male, wealthy coastal and white college vote.



I think its time for Buchanan to be placed in the background of the Republican party or even be taken to the old folks home because he is clearly suffering from dementia or senility.

Obama got - BY HIMSELF - the amount of the ENTIRE 2004 DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY TOTAL.

I second Plums's comment - remember, there were polls showing Obama getting only 10% of the white vote; instead it was 24%, to Hillary's 36% - and that's in South Carolina!


(Yes, let's turn the usual "it doesn't matter because it's S. Carolina" narrative on its head.) Let's face it, probably not the most progressive white electorate in the country, and Obama was competitive even there. Obviously neither he, nor any other Dem, will take the state in November, but this result - together with all those endorsements from Red State Democrats - should be thrown in the teeth of anyone who still wants to argue that Obama can't win in November.

The breakdown of white votes should be touted as a positive for Obama. He got 27% of white men to Clinton's 29%. White women broke for her, but that;s expected.
