This issue is very real, people. I agree with BAB. It is certainly an impediment and has been for the last two election. The power in the GOP to "win" (steal) elections is enormous. The GOP has it down and will go to any lengths to win. The Dems should be alert to any and all tactics and monitor all polls. The US can conduct an election, of course but it's time the Dems go all out to monitor and protect all polling sites. As far as offense goes--I would hate for them to cross the scuzzy line to win like the GOP does.

Not bad for an empty suit LOL (I laugh so I don't cry.)

bigassbelle, I understand your anger; but I've gotta say it's hard for me to blame 'rethugs' let alone name-call them given what Democrats are pulling agains Obama. I don't think we can succeed if we think that -- and respond as if -- Republicans are the only impediments to a fair election.

What are Democrats offering as a solution to voter caging, which upholds the integrity of the vote?

I'll be honest, the only upholding I've seen Democrats actively do recently is barnstorm for the 'rights' of illegal aliens. Maybe it's just me and me trusting what the media puts out (always foolish), but that seems to have been the push the past couple years. Motor voter registration, no IDs... how exactly was any of that supposed to specifically help the concerns of the black community? white community? latino community? I've always been led to believe black community's current bigger voting issue (besides folks intentionally giving out bad information about election dates) has always been what's going down with people who have been imprisoned, and the belief that once you've been imprisoned for a federal crime you can never vote again -- ever. Or maybe it's not widespread where you are. Was that always just an excuse? or was/is it real?

more than any other single factor, i fear that the rethugs have this election in the bag because they've spent the last four years refining and honing their dirty trick skills.

witness the state of kansas GOP chair, who bragged in an email to rethugs in that state how successful had been the efforts of the GOP to "identify and cage" more voters in the most recent 11 months than in the entire two years. so proud of it too.

http://www.crooksandliars.com/2007/12/26/kansas-gop-chair-sends-email-boasting-of-voter-caging/

scared they're going to steal it again.
