Unlike some other Republican candidates that make an issue out of their religion, he does not use it to cast out people who disagree with him. He handles himslef well in front of an audience and can tell a real joke (he was pretty good on The Colbert Report). Interesting nugget - he got 40% of the black vote last time he ran for governor.
