There is no question in my mind that I finally heard a “word from the Lord” last night. I haven’t been moved like that by a politician in years. It is about time. Listening to the speech over and over brought me to tears. HILLARY CLINTON WILL NEVER BE PRESIDENT OF THIS COUNTRY.

Because he finally gave us, his people, “a word from the Lord,” he has my enthusiastic endorsement.

Cater and W won and won the Presidency. Reagan and HW lost and won the Presidency. Hardly a definitive pattern.

It was a stunning speech. Maybe we have a new Great Communicator?

One thing I know for sure: if/when Barack wins New Hampshire and South Carolina, the U.S. Secret Service may just have to protect Barack from the Clintons as much as the white supremacists. :)

Congratulations to Senator Obama, and congratulations to the caucusers of Iowa who recognized that a president can, indeed, be Black.

but just temper the optimism with some caution.

people always talk about Iowa and momentum, but recent history tells us that just isn’t true.

it’s early. A Clinton or Edwards win in a *real* primary next week changes everything.

Yeah, well no black man of any party has ever won a huge election event like the Iowa Caucus. Especially a black man that nobody ever heard of as little as three years ago.

Nothing is set in stone anymore and it doesn’t matter who won Iowa in the past or not because Barack Obama is shaking up the entire landscape.

I was referring to the Democratic side. Should have specified.

But that underscores my point: the only two Democrats who’ve won Iowa and got the nominations were sitting presidents.

It wasn’t contested when Clinton ran in 1992.

have y’all seen the list of folks who’ve won in Iowa and became president? that list has one name on it (Bil Clinton), and *he* was a sitting president.

Iowa’s goofy little caucus system is not a great augur for what happens next (for Dems, at least).

NH and SC matter and will get media attention; perhaps NV, but to a lesser degree.

Heck of a speech. Because I realize it’s likely Bill Richardson will no longer be a candidate by February 12th, I’ll say it: I’m going to vote for Barack Obama. And I’m going to be proud when I do it…

@ Webbuh: In Olbermann’s defense, I think Olbermann just hates the Iowa caucus, period…it didn’t have anything to do with who won.

Oh, I bet they choked reporting both Obama and Huckabee.

America is about to get that Washingtonian-Lincolnian-Rooseveltian Class of President that’s long overdue…if only he had been in the White House on 9/11.

The pundits are saying that the “Torch is passing,” tonight. In that case, I’d loan it (for a short moment) to folks like Andrew Young to help them cook their Fresh CROW…oops…apparently, they like it deep fried.

Crying ain’t the word! It’s not much that can get my sullen, too-cool teenage excited, but he tackled me, literally! Every time I pick up the phone all I’m getting is screaming from friends and family.

I can’t believe this is happening!

BTW, it’s not many things I would ever dare correct you on, but Obama’s percentage is closer to 38% now.

let’s hope that Obama can keep this momentum through the month of January (NH, SC, MI, WY, etc.) into early February for Super Tuesday. If so, he’ll have this thing LOCKED UP!!! *smile*
