But, I haven't heard from any more prominent Black Republicans or Conservative Bloggers...their silence is deafening.

I'm a lesser-known black conservative blogger and someone pulled my coat about it today.

If the Republicans coud do something that would make the NAACP happy, then for every black vote they gain, 10 or more white voters would walk away from them.

That is why the Republicans ignore the black vote and pack black voters into districts where they do not have to ever bother to run a candidate.

Pander to blacks would be a horrible mistake for Republicans. They gain no advantage but the costs would be very high.

The GOP is allegedly trying to win my vote. So it is incumbent upon THEM and the members of that party to make the effort to appear at MY conventions, MY political events and pay more than lip service to MY political issues in order to win MY vote.

If they can't do that, then I can't (and won't) take their words that they want to compete for MY vote seriously.

They have the negative record to overcome and no amount of propaganda from conservative bloggers or Fox News is gonna overcome that.

I'll start taking Republicans seriously when they start getting A's on the NAACP Civil Rights Report Card instead of F's

Why would the Republicans show up to an event where 90%+ of the crowd will automatically vote for the Democratic candidate. Blacks in Maryland refused to even consider Steele during the last election. Blacks are a lost cause to the Republicans and thus not worth the resource. Any black vote gained by pandering to blacks will lose dozens of middle class white votes.

Would a Democratic candidate appear at the NRA convention or the Souther Baptist Convention?

The real question to ask is why will happen to black voters when the Republican party goes out of business and all of the current Republican voters start voting in the Democratic Primaries?

You know what…Let them screw themselves over. When they start saying they are a valid alternative people can just point to these incidents. They are making themselves less appealing to people of colour and just showing who they really are. I don’t think that the Republicans are winning any more Black fans because of their behaviour.
