Black neighborhoods such as Bronzeville, and the West Side are being gentrified. In the last election, the stallwart Black Ward, the one that began Black political power in Chicago - the 2nd Ward - elected a White guy. In the 3rd Ward (Bronzeville), they got rid of Dorothy Tillman, who was the most activist in trying to have BLACKS control gentrification.
