I was very skeptical we could make a difference, but when our "Fact faxs" were being quoted on the floor of the U.S Senate, I knew we had. 69 senators had voted for amnesty before leaving on holiday, but was short 15 last night. 50-45 you must have 60 to move forward. The president and a group of elitist senators met in secret behind close doors and took their marching orders from Open Border and Amnesty Advocate Organizations and The Chamber of Commerce(Corporations who want cheap illegal labor or they send the jobs overseas). You won't believe this, OUR SENATE even voted down an amendment 59 to 36 to secure our borders and enforce our laws. How could Kyl believe anything Kennedy agreed to after that. They voted 50-45 knowing that their own Congressional Budget office reported that this bill would only stop 25% of new illegal aliens. They voted to burden the American people with the weight(trillions of dollars with a T/Hertiage) of involuntarily supporting illegals who had stolen into our country, stolen our Social security cards and identities and stolen low and middle class jobs. I wanted to shout WAKE UP AMERICA! WE ARE LOOSING OUR COUNTRY! WE ARE BEING BETRAYED! Truthfully I'm not exaggerating. The "Masters of the Universe " as the media call them, who constructed this bill, are ignoring the outcry of from their constituents. One honorable Senator exclaimed,"The only people that has had no representation in this Senate, are American working class men and women ... and American families. And they vote NO

The bi-partisan Americans for Legal Immigration(alipac) address’s the disparity between the public’s desire for more control of illegal immigration and the actions of the President and OUR Senators.
I only joined 2 weeks ago when I stumbled onto the site. Democrats were supposed to run things differently. We were told that sunshine is the best disinfectant to counter closed-door Republican politics. Yet, there they sat in secrecy, cheek-to-jowel with the same closed-door Republicans, big business interests, and open-border advocacy groups trying to cobble together an unworkable, comprehensive replacement for a system that is not broken. What is broken, however, is the federal government's will to enforce current law against illegal employers who hire illegal workers.

The absence of transparency and open participation fueled early opposition to the Bush-Kennedy, pro-amnesty, cheap labor trap bill, and its rightful demise. Politically, the defeat allows Republican senators to distance themselves from Bush's unpopular immigration agenda, while at the same time making the Democratically-led Senate appear feckless and ineffectual, again. I don’t relish the Dems defeat, but they deserved to lose this one ... big time.

Good riddance. Democrats were supposed to run things differently.
