If you listen to rush's words you will hear that he is simply repeating what a black reporter from the l.a. times had published in the paper! How is it racist to repeat what one black man says about another black man (or half black man)? al and jesse have also publically questioned obama's blackness.
It sure does "fire up" the blacks when their own racism is pointed out to them by a white guy!
...And in imus's case, why is ok for a black to call a woman a ho and not a white? especially when MOST of the team is white!
maybe it's because we they aren't black enough to use such a word???
...listen to Bill Cosby, he can see the racism perpetuated by the blacks too!

First of all, i find it highly offensive for Racist Rush or 'The liberial media" to question Obama's 'blackness', for godsake was it not the american government who defined anybody of half black blood as being BLACK? Secondly, for Rush or anybody to say "Oh he's not real like snoop dogg or al sharpton" as if every black person in america looks to these guys for validation? Give me a break, there are so many white people who refuse to accept their 'racist' ways, for fear of not being 'PC'! Lastly the imus comment shouldnt even be mentioned in the same breath as hip-hop use of those words, imus called an underdog college girls basketball team that made it to the finals no less, nappy headed-ho's, research the entire catalog of rap/hip-hop and i'll gurantee you NOT ONE ARTIST HAS EVER USED THOSE WORDS TOWARDS WOMEN OF THEIR STATURE, EVER!So what Al aka "The big spender" and jesse "im 66yrs old with a babymama and a wife on the side" has to say concerning hip-hop is irrelavent to me and most!!!Side note to all white readers al sharpton and jesse jackson DONT REPRESENT ALL BLACKS or their views, in case you were thinking otherwise!!!And is Rush still popping "oxy" i heard its highly addictive, but its nothing like viagra and dominican prostitute's to wash it all down!!!

Jill,

You are 100% right on this one. It simply isn't good for anyone that Rush gets a pass on this.

I understand the idea of trying play the reverse racist card and say that whites who support Obama are doing so out of "white guilt" but explaining this is just admitting playing racist politics of the most dirty and egregious sort.

This is a new low even for Rush. I'm an Obama '08 supporter right now primarily because he is the most articulate and effective of the "out of Iraq" Senators. (Despite that I'm not comfortable with his relationship with some of the military-industrial complex nor some of his recent comments about Iran.) But despite the pesky detail that I'm white, I'm still able to discuss Obama's various platform statements and compare and contrast them with other candidates.

Rush's comments are racist against Barack, against the black community, against the white community, heck -- I'd say they're at least as inflammatory as Imus's (tho different, I suppose he didn't actually call me or Barack anything exactly sexually degrading) and they target more people in a degraded and similarly uncouth way.

Maybe Rush gets a pass because Imus already took a hit (ie people don't want to go up to bat for "civil discourse" all over again this quickly) and Rush has more powerful friends. But if this isn't racist hate speech, what is?

You fools. RUSH did not say white people who support him are racist, DAVID EHRENSTEIN wrote a column in the L.A. Times that called Obama The Magic Negro, the guy guilty white people vote for to feel better about themselves. It followed stories from mainstream media reports claiming Obama doesn't have the "credentials" to be a viable black candidate, and then another story saying Al Sharpton took offense at Democrat Joe Biden's racist "clean and articulate" comment. Way to be woefully uninformed. Limbaugh was picking up on all of these things liberals were saying. Who are the real racists? I already know your answer, because you refuse to see it any other way. Rush=racist is the template, and you're stickin' with it. If you actually listened to the show, you would know Rush feels sorry for Obama having to deal with all of these stories coming out of the mainstream media questioning his "blackness", and criticizes the media, NOT Obama himself, for refusing to let these stories die.
