Give me a break, there are so many white people who refuse to accept their 'racist' ways, for fear of not being 'PC'! (Despite that I’m not comfortable with his relationship with some of the military-industrial complex nor some of his recent comments about Iran.) But despite the pesky detail that I’m white, I’m still able to discuss Obama’s various platform statements and compare and contrast them with other candidates.

Rush’s comments are racist against Barack, against the black community, against the white community, heck — I’d say they’re at least as inflammatory as Imus’s (tho different, I suppose he didn’t actually call me or Barack anything exactly sexually degrading) and they target more people in a degraded and similarly uncouth way.

Maybe Rush gets a pass because Imus already took a hit (ie people don’t want to go up to bat for “civil discourse” all over again this quickly) and Rush has more powerful friends. But if this isn’t racist hate speech, what is?
