Barack Obama is running for President of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

He’s NOT running for President of BLACK AMERICA.

And, I believe, we, as a community, better understand that. The person with the ‘ perfectly authentic progressive Black record’ wouldn’t stand a chance in hell of winning the nomination.

It is their unwillingness to recognize that which bothers me.

Like a Black man with Ted Kennedy, Russell Feingold, or the late Paul Simon or Paul Wellstone, would actually BE elected, and if he actually got in, would be able to be RE-elected.

I just don’t believe it. Not even in the bluest of states would this happen.

You can call it ‘The Black Tax’, but unless your highest aspiration is a Congressional Seat in a ‘safe’ district’, voting that way is political suicide.

So, yes, they ‘moderate’.

I wish those on the left would stop acting like Barack Obama’s voting record is akin to Sam Brownback’s. It isn’t, and they know damn well it isn’t.
