A black bourgeoisie perspective on U.S. politics
Not sure what Joe Biden was thinking when he said this in front of a Republican group: the South Carolina Rotary Club. Maybe he’s trying to pull a McCain and test his “crossover” appeal. To be all things to all people — anti-war, racist reactionary — whatever it takes. Presidential material in a rapidly diversifying America? I don’t think so. At least now we know the casual bigot behind the bland grin and boring words.
Delaware, [Biden] noted, was a “slave state that fought beside the North. That’s only because we couldn’t figure out how to get to the South. There were a couple of states in the way.”
The crowd loved it.
Um. Duly noted. Wonder if the rest of Delaware agrees?
