It's said though that many Iraqis compare their lives under Saddam more favorably than their current lives under the U.S. occupation. Is Bush killing a perceived rival?

Who IS THE WORLD IS THE AUTHOR OF THIS BLOG?

Dear blog author - ARE THEY SAYING THAT "MY LIFE WAS BETTER WHEN THE GOVERNMENT WAS REPRESSING THOSE SECTARIAN KILLERS" WHO ARE NOW SEEKING REVENGE or are they saying that 'THE US MILITARY IS KILLING US NOW'?

Why do you DEBATE THIS CONFLICT from the comfort of AMERICAN partisan ideology RATHER THAN THE FACT ON THE GROUND?

One MUSLIM SECT is killing another MUSLIM SECT.

In SOUTH AFRICA when a MINORITY ruled a MAJORITY and their SKIN COLOR WAS DIFFERENT you and everyone could see the TACTICS THAT THEY USED TO OPPRESS THE MAJORITY INTO SUBMISSION.

Somehow in Iraq though when the minority ruled over the majority it is something to look back upon with nostalgia? PLEASE.

GET THE MUSLIMS TO STOP KILLING EACH OTHER AND THE COUNTRY WILL MOVE FORWARD WITH A GOVERNMENT OF THEIR OWN CHOOSING!!

Please tell me "who BUSH IS KILLING" today in Iraq in proportion to the MUSLIM ON MUSLIM KILLING?

Do you write things just to MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD?

A fair and balanced lynching indeed. Pass the Bud Light and the nachos! Hang 'em high! Circus Maximus!

Lord -- what the rest of the world must think of us now.

It's interesting that news reports in the Boston Globe indicate for three years, US officials from the Department of Justice and the State Department pored over millions of Iraqi documents and hundreds of graves from mass killings during Saddam Hussein's 24-year rule in search of key evidence. American advisers helped draft the court's rules. Later, after an elected Iraqi government came to power, US officials still played a key role in the court.

In all, the US government spent more than $128 million building the courthouse, exhuming mass graves, gathering evidence and training Iraqi judges.

As Farah Stockman of the Boston Globe wrote, Although Iraqi judges handed down the death sentence against Saddam Hussein, hundreds of American lawyers, advisers and investigators played a crucial role in the process of trying and convicting the ousted Iraqi leader.

Your right, Jack and Jill Politics, the hanging of Saddam will exacerbate the situation on the ground while making Hussein a martyr of the American occupation of Iraq.

Hanging is barbaric. America has a infamous history of hanging and lynching. George W Bush could care less about our deteriorating image abroad lyching is what America is famous for. If Fox TV could show it live, Americans would have lynching parties. Anyone for a Bud Light we are hanging Saddam this evening, live on FOX, a fair and balanced lynching.

The bottom line is the Bush administration is full of sh*%.

First it was cooked up charges of the former Iraqi regime’s alleged possession of ‘Weapons of Mass Destruction’ now its Saddam as the world worst dictator, as Israel builds its own Berlin Wall and kills hundreds thousands of baby's in Lebanon. Securing Saddam’s conviction was the top priority of Bush, even if, as Satya Sagar, journalist based in New Delhi indicates "this meant trampling on all notions of fairness and principles of jurisprudence."

Welcome to America, 100 years of lynching, Iraq style.
